In short: well organised first time event ideal for any runner, jogger or walker.
In full: great location, 2 lap course. good pre race comuncation - chip timed event with text result rec'd within 5 mins of finish. Nice finish medal & goodie bag. great support around the course especially the crossover points - well marshalled. for a firswt time event it was extremely well managed & organised.

In full: a very undulating course - deceptive as first 5 miles are downhill in the main - so you are left wondering whats in store coming back. 2 really tough sections between 6-10 miles & then a moderate climb to finish. despite this a unigue event - today with sleet, rain & snow. however the marshalls support is great & the home made baked items to purchase post race are the best - the cornish pasty was delicious.

In full: well organised - ran like clockwork. whilst a lap race didnt seem it - pleasant scenary to take in. excellent race HQ & great for start & finish. 2 water stations on route. slight undulating course but very manageable. Did a 10M pb so well chuffed- looking forward to celebrating with the finisher goody momento -bottle of locally produced "joggers tipple" beer.

In full: very pretty village setting - living & training in the city lovely to get out into the peaceful & rural countryside of Elswick & surrounds.

well organised, friendly event with encouraging marshals around the course. well organised water stations with drink cap bottles - with a warm day these were very welcome.

A unique finishers goodie bag - fresh fruit & free ice cream from local ice cream makers - great reward after an energetic run.

maybe the event should start a bit earlier in mid summer from a potential hot weather perspective.

well done to all runners & the organiser & his helpers.

In short: spirits not dampened
In full: early start - free city centre parking in places - good support for starting area - nice to have a communal warm up. very congested at the start of the run as some walkers / joggers & a mass of corporate below average speed runners are at the head of the race - see race video as proof.this caused a lot of weaving & bunching & even swearing from some participants. the rain made it slippery in places i slipped on one of the harbour wooden bridges & have the bruises to show (according to st johns i wasnt teh only one to suffer this fate)- more care needed from race officials as to warning runners of hazardous areas. otherwise a fast course pb potential & well supported & friendly event supporting a true running legend.
