In short: Good race for a first timer In full: Am writing this review three weeks after the event as having now completed my second 10k at Sherwood Forest and leaving a slightly negative feedback I feel I should balance that out by leaving a positive one for Tamworth. Course was okay, canal path was tricky enough with all the puddles and grouping together of runners, good support, bananas, fig bars and bottle of water on finish and a lovely dated/location medal in goody bag. Enjoyable first race. Date of review: November 12, 2012

In short: Poor Value. Poor organisation at finish. In full: Found this to be quite a tough 10k on a fairly hilly course. Only my second 10k after Tamworth. The course itself was well set out and enjoyable enough. Sense of achievement quickly subsided in finishing area though as there was a queue to get water. I was overheating on an unusually sunny day (dressed for the cold) and desperately needed refuelling at the finish. There was nothing but a queue for a cup of water. No goody bag with gels/energy bars, no bananas, no medal (which I'm still new enough at this game to get a buzz out of) and they even ran out of commemorative tee-shirts. Really not a very good finish to an otherwise excellent day. Date of review: November 11, 2012
