In short: Nice country woodland route
In full: 4 months into running so thought I'd give this localish one a go, only opted for the 5 miles though and something now I'm very happy I did!

We arrived with plenty of time to spare, signs were positioned well and everything ran really smoothly.

Also got to watch Kelly Holmes present the 1 mile runners with their medals before we began our main race.

Unfortunately just as we started the sun decided to come out from behind the clouds, this combined with the quite undulating hills (felt like mountains) really took it out of me today and I came in with quite a slow time.

Overall though everything else was brilliant and ran perfectly, the medal is also quite a nice one :)

Would certainly give it another go next year after some more hill work.

In short: A nice sunny morning race in the country!
In full: What a great race!

We arrived about 30 minutes before the start of the race with plenty of time to spare, signs for the race were quite visible although we did miss one leading to a wrong turn but a steward soon had us back on track.

Parking was brilliant and everyone was guaranteed a space!

Slightly long queue for the toilets but nothing too bad, typical race length really.

The km signs the first time round were a little confusing but more useful on lap two.

Quite an up and down track but the sheep's baaaaaaaaaas helped me along!

All in all a very nice race, friendly atmosphere and would certainly take part again next year.

In short: Very challenging hilly course when muddy!
In full: This was my first ever 10K ... I don't think I'll ever run a harder one to be honest! The first half of the course is brutal on the legs, a steady slope that then builds into a very steep hill which gradually flattens out (glady) for the second half. I managed to do most of the first lap without stopping but the second time around the hill slowed me down a lot. As it'd rained heavily for a few days before the ground was very muddy and slippy which also added to the pain. The relief of getting over that hill the second time around was worth it though and I crawled my way over the finish line in just over an hour.

Everything was ran brilliantly and the rain and mud just made the race that little bit more tough but also fun.

The only real downside was not seeing one deer in the whole time of being in the park, quite unusual!

I'd like to give it another go in the future as it's certainly a different type of course.

In short: Great first race for me
In full: Parking was simple and the village hall was very easy to find. Ample seating inside for family to sit down whilst you get sorted out then a short walk to the start line. The course was nice showing off the great Kent countryside and luckily we had very nice weather. There was a fast drink pick up point around 3 miles which was quite refreshing. Overall a very enjoyable race with a nice atmosphere.
