Hic! (3rd time lucky on ipad - hoc, ice, hic - not quite Latin...)
had an arty day at John Moores painting exhibition. Not as bad as some years ... Mostly rather good and interesting. Then photo exhib. Then shopping. Looked for a new restaurant but couldn't find it. Obviously hadn't taken careful notes as to whereabouts but went elsewhere for a good meal. Not too busy midweek!
Spent the weekend ( some parts wet!) at Shrewsbury Folk Festival. Mr P actually had time off to come too this year. I'm far happier and more at home with hippies in a field than North Wales caravan park or hotel in Malta!
Possibly JFF? I might have done some more running by next summer ... keep putting it off as dissertation seems a bit more pressing and I haven't made the time (which I could, easily, wiht a bit of will-power!) I camped at Catton Hall a couple of years ago for a festival.
(though seriously it would depend on dates - school hols, Mr P shifts - or hospital appts ... ... realised I can't get too carried away planning a Grand Tour of Scotland like we used to do in the olden days until we know more about when he might have his heart op - he sees the specialist next month so we might get some inkling then)
Snaily - yes! only you can do anything about it. Talk to somebody. Have you tried counselling?
I'm back. and surviving! A caravan wasn't quite as bad as feared, but I still wouldn't do it for myself. It was a bit classier than some of the places we passed ...Pleasantly surprised at the caravan itself - held a max of 6 and we were 5 adults plus a 15 year old. We had plenty of space, though the beds were rather short even for me, let alone the inlaws all 6ft plus plus!
We swam and played crazy golf - badly - and ate and drank and laughed. The swimming pool got evacuated yesterday - rather shambolically! and we all trooped out wet into the windy park. Luckily a niece had been sitting at the side not swimming and due to lack of lockers we had given her all our stuff, so she came out with towels for us. The restaurant staff gave us 2 bottles of bubbly last night for having been good customers and keeping them entertained ... not sure what to make of that!!!
And after a weekend of sharing with 15 yr old cousin, Pippette has apologised for ever having been a teenager!
(((DG))) good to hear he's hopefully on the mend.
Well done Cheesy - despite the DNF you got about 4 times further than I ever have - and 50 mile further than most people!
