Last year I was on cloud 9 after doing this - now I wonder about doing Ultras at all - whats the point of the pain and struggle? No one gives fig if I do it or not , Carol doesn't really want me to do them , my kids couldn't care less , no one outside of the running fraternity gives a hoot they just think I'm daft doing this at 45 . And who could blame them? I could have been at home in the warm at 8am on Sunday but was instead running in torrential rain in knee deep mud , and continued to do so for another 6 hours and 23 mins. For what? A shot glass thats obviousl a factory second and a T shirt that says Doyen of the Downs on it but not even the distance and even then on the back FFS.
That post really made me smile Mike - Go on get it off your chest!
