Hello all, Haven't been around since I hadn't run until today after going tits up on Tuesday, and I've been <whispers> checking out the US site too. Anyway, I will head off in a minute and put the tv on and see if they are showing any of the athletics. That would be nice! What: 10 miles 'easy' d&d in 75F heat and 99% humidity Good runnings all!

Morning all, great pics Sharkie - you look like you are flying! DesRes, wow, I'm glad I don't have to do TM maintenance. NZC, lovely to see you - plans for the autumn? Well, I suppose it's the Spring for you... TT, the bruises were all gone but there's a little bit of the discolouration from blood pooling left. Oh well, onwards and upwards. What: 5M easy IF my knees feel ok; if not a long walk I think I actually don't feel the scrapes and cuts too much; rather I feel as though I have been beaten all over. My stomach muscles are really sore - must have pulled something while I was diving through the air. Good runnings all.

Torbay was my first half marathon I think! What a pretty one. I came a cropper today - usually I run on the road, not the pavement, because the downside of all the beautiful trees we have lining the roads here is horribly cracked and buckled pavements. But today I was running at a heavy traffic time, and caught my toe and supermanned beautifully through the air. Both knees, both hands, left elbow, tummy (???) and hip bone. My right knee is quite beautifully swollen. Of course I got up and dusted myself down and trotted home with dignity, but my ego is a little bruised too!

Morning all, Hi Tectona - how about mentally separating your warm up from your run/race? Before a race I usually run a few miles just to get the blood pumping.I used to think that I didn't want to 'waste the energy' when I was going to race, but I race much better now following a short warm up, and some people on here do a lot more. What: short run, possibly with 3 x 4 min efforts Good runnings all.
