In short: At least it wasn't too hot, or flat, or dry......
In full: An absolute classic event but not for the faint-hearted, or those who like to keep clean and dry.
Conditions were horrid, sleet/rain and high winds on the top.
All credit to the Organisers and the unsung heroes - the Marshalls, stood freezing, but always encouraging, top people.
Next year is 25th DD, will be entering early!!!

In short: Tough-Mudder, be back next year though.
In full: Photos of last year showed runners ankle-deep coming through the tunnels, this year it was waist-deep, cool on the cucumber!!!
Parking/race start was a bit hap-hazard; only 4 porta-loos for how many????
Results timings could vary by 30 seconds as a mass start on a narrow track.
All that apart, the course was superb, challenging, very muddy, with the odd fallen tree/branches thrown in. Could have done with "Hill One" etc signs, as often an "incline" felt like a "hill", and I lost count.
Loved it though, laughed with my fellow runners throughout, atmosphere superb.

In short: Well marked, tough, variable terrain, superbly marshalled, fantastic.
In full: Along with 22 other hardy souls that also competed in the Red Kite Challenge on the previous day, I set off with some amount of trepidation, and no-little soreness in my legs.
As with Saturday's race, it was sunny and very windy, espescially on the heights. The course was altered somewhat, but still tough and thoroughly enjoyable, the fallen tree we had to negotiate twice was a nice twist.
Ok, so a PB is out of the question, but this is a far better race for just that reason.
Give the two races in two days a go, it's worth the effort.

In short: Super Race, magnificent cause, ideal for all standards of runners
In full: Fast out-and-back course with a few gentle inclines. My first run since getting injured on the Rhayader 20, and what a race to come back with. Over 1100 runners, ranging from elite-Club types, through plodders like myself, to others for who this will have been their only run ever, took part. Great organisation, warm friendly atmosphere, chip-timing, and for a truely worthy cause the Wakefield Hospice.

In short: Onwards and upwards, and upwards, and upwards.
In full: Machen 10 number 6 for me, and it never gets any easier. The race is gruelling, yet glorious. With such a relatively small team, Greg consistently produces a wonderfully organised event, great value for money, warm and welcoming atmosphere, and of course that hill. All credit to everyone involved, organisers, marshalls, first aiders, even the runners.

In short: Glad it wasn't too hot/dry!!
In full: My first attempt at this one, but not my last. Weather-permitting, this could be one of the most scenic races in Wales. Tough when it needed to be, but more than compensated for by long flat (if waterlogged) sections. Marshalled really well, 2 water stops, t-shirt and goody-bag, beat that!!

In short: What a cracker.
In full: My 5th, but certainly not final, attempt at this wonderful race, and every one has been a gem. Greg and his team are a template for great race organisation. The course, never changes, never gets any easier, but is never dull. If you only do one multi-terrain/fell race a year, then this is the one.

In short: When they say "Challenge", they mean challenge!!
In full: The toughest race I've ever done!! Hills, bogs, disappearing paths, followed by more bogs 'n'hills. Well marshalled, great organisation. This is surely one to watch for the future, as it's reputation will (deservedly)grow. Ingli Runners, Respect.

In short: Not for the faint-hearted.
In full: Brilliant race by the Sarn Helen club. Excellent atmosphere, well marked and marshalled. Seriously tough race, cracking hills, marshy underfoot mixed with "fast" tarmac/track. If you want to push yourself, this is a good one to try.

In short: Jan would have been proud!!!
In full: Again, a forecast-defying hot one for the brave boys and girls. The hills are just as bad as I remember them, but enjoyable all the same. As I said in the summary "Jan would have been proud of all who organised and took part in the event!!"
