In short: what rain? In full: The usual trionium experience, without the brutality of some of Rob's events.. beautiful offroad course, great atmosphere and excellent marshals and officials. well done all Date of review: September 23, 2012
In short: new course a lot easier than the old one, but still a challenge and a joy In full: another superb trionium event with a really excellent friendly atmosphere. the new course has removed the toughest muddy and steep sections and also pretty much all of the junction bottlenecks, making the whole experience considerably better, except for the hardcore masochists. marshalling was very good and friendly. goodie bag and other refreshments made this very good value indeed. thanks to all the marshalls and also to the fellow runners for hearty support on the course.
2K KIDS RACE - my 4 year old did this and is still wearing her T-shirt, medal and smile. I cannot praise this supporting event too highly. Date of review: September 20, 2009
In short: lovely hilly offroader on good tracks with good atmosphere but not requiring the same degree of masochism as the trionium halfs! In full: really enjoyed this one today. course a bit drier than last year and hence faster. really excellent organisation and top goodies at the end make this one one of the best value for money events of all imho. i was looking foward to that badger beer for the last 3 miles and it certainly didnt disappoint. as far as i know this is the only morning race with beers at the end and so an ideal one for runners like me who get 'thirsty' on sunday mornings! some might say it's not a potential PB course due to the hills, but i ran my fastest time for years so can't be too bad. many thanks to the organisers, marshalls and other helpers for their splendid work and encouragement. see you at ashtead 10k in 2 weeks. In short: deserves its reputation... hards as nails but fun as f*ck In full: my 3rd attempt at this one. have hardly run at all this year as been focussing on the bike. uphills felt relatively easy but the descents destroyed my legs. a big fall on the penultimate down could not spoil my enjoyment whatsoever and the sight today in the mirror of all my cuts and bruises brings back only happy memories of the race. brilliant atmosphere and huge support and camaraderie amongst the runners. not just a great race but also a truly inspirational event - i'm now super eager to dust off my running shoes again.. just as soon as i can get down the stairs again :) Date of review: June 21, 2009
In short: trionium lite! - for those who love the atmosphere but who arent sure if they can take the full brutality of dr Robs more fiendish courses In full: marvellous race. superb organisation. challenging but fun course. great camaraderie among participants.
The best thing of all about this one is the 2k kids fun run which is cross-subsidised by the adults race resulting in off the scale goodies etc. my 5 year old will just not stop enthusing about it. if this cant get kids interested in sport then nothing can.
Big up to Dr Rob and all the marshalls for a splendid day out in the sunshine. Cheers. Date of review: September 14, 2008
In short: tough (but not brutal like MM) off road (but mainly on good surface) hillyish 1/2m with very friendly atmosphere. In full: What a cracking event! No chance of the grim weather spoiling this one. Superbly organised considering it was the first running. One more marshall near the sawmill/summit would have been a good idea but that's the only fault i could find with it. Good idea to use the mole barn as registration area and excellent to have nice shower facilities at the finish. Goody bag etc was possibly the best i've ever seen with the Badger beer at the finish a particularly inspired and welcome additional freebie :). Will certainly be back for another crack at this one next year. An event this good deserves to be allowed a larger entry if the powers-that-be permit it. A big thanks to the organisers and all the marshalls. Cheers. Date of review: September 7, 2008
