In short: Taken on board improvements from last year - shaping up to be a great race
In full: Don't think I've ever done such a perfectly organised race, nice to see the problems at the start from 2011 have been resolved, and the tweaks to the course added to the event. Hills in the 2nd half make it quite tough, though I did get a new PB, so can't really complain. Atmosphere was fantastic once again - hopefully the organisers have already re-booked that drum band for next year (....and the year after, and year after that, etc!)

In short: OK race ruined by terrible post-race organisation
In full: First running of this race and it's abundantly clear the organisers need to improve if they expect anyone to do it again next year. I'm never normally so harsh about races as I appreciate organisers put a lot of effort in and I don't want to be needlessly negative, but it took me 90 mins to get my bag back after this race (and I was in the 1st 200 finishers), whilst suffering borderline hypothermia thanks to pouring rain and freezing temperatures. The army cadets just gave up after trying to hand back bags and left runners to a free for all. In 15 years of racing I've never experienced a worse baggage organisation, and for this reason there's no way I'll be back next year.

Having said that the support and marshals were fantastic in terrible conditions and there were loads of well stocked water stations. But for a London marathon price I expect London marathon style organisation of all aspects and the baggage chaos was not it!

In short: Some teething issues but overall loved it
In full: Bit of a problem at the start caused by public not respecting the course markers, communication of this was very poor which led to a half hour delay. Once underway however the race was fantastic, loads of support, loads of aid stations, good scenery (yes, in Liverpool!) and the atmosphere coming out of the tunnel & round the city centre was truly staggering

In short: Lovely race, would definitely do it again
In full: Slightly hillier than I'd expected and it takes quite some willpower to push yourself past the finish funnel to do the second of the 6 mile loops, but a really nice race overall. Could do with another water station or two to make it perfect.

In short: Can't wait for next year
In full: Lovely scenic park, lovely friendly runners and marshalls and despite the hills and trail running, still a fast course. And £8 entry to include a t-shirt, bag and water is fantastic value, more races like this please!

In short: Cold and more hilly than expected, but great fun
In full: I'm not too sure about the accuracy of the km markers....45secs up on PB split over the 1st km, 1min down by the 4th, but a new PB by 1min over the full 10k? But fantastic scenery and great organisation. Can someone turn up the heating next year though?

In short: A nice challenge
In full: Very well organised and just enough hills to keep it interesting without making it too difficult.
