In short: Good race , fast course but preferred it other way round. great support
In full: Good race as usual but get the impression the City Council is losing interest as despite web info saying free parking for all runners http://www.peterborough.gov.uk/leisure/events/great_eastern_run/race_history.aspx many people paid up to £4 to park... Also expecting runners to have 20p for the council toilets 10mins before start of race was ridiculous. Same T shirt design as last year as well with 2009 instead of 2008 on it. Volunteer Marshalls were brilliant, but again the 'rentamob security firms' paid to control the finish/baggage area were their usual bullying Nazi-selves.

In short: nicely organised but the road bit from 1mile marker to turn at just past 5miles felt a bit unsafe

In short: Good course, excellent support and marshals. Shame about the rent-a-thug security guards
In full: Hot day, good course, great support. Well organised.
But Rent-a-thug 'professional' security guards behaviour completely unacceptable. I understand the need to keep the flow of runners out of the secure area moving, BUT being rude and pushing people is not the way to do it. Peterborough CC please get another company to do this next year.

In short: Don't bother
In full: Poorly 'organised' joke of a race. started 25mins late for some reason but unless you were actually next to one of the loudspeakers you wouldn't know why.

Spectators couldn't get into the castle because it was full apparently (surely they knew how many people might come when every one of 4500+ runners had been sent a pass for 2 tickets to the castle!!)

Queue at finish of 40-50 runenrs for post race water bottles by 42min finishing time god knows how bad it was 10 mins or so later at expected peak of finishers.

Course was better when you went by castle area twice as in 2006.

I won't be back until Lincoln City Council learn how to at least start on time and realise organising a big road race is more complicated than emptying rubbish bins!!!

In short: Hope there's another one next year because this was a great race.
In full: what an excellent race and will definitely do it next year. Was on road as organisers felt off road course too flooded.Well organised. Great Goody Bag- 1. A pint glass. 2. Apint of beer from the pub to go in the grass. 3. a free T shirt to club members who had more than 3 runners in their club. Post race chat in pub was good and the pub also did special runners lunches (although didn't know this in advance so had already arranged lunch at home). Hard course 4th of about 40 runners.

In short: Fast course all roads completely closed and scenery as good as can expect for an urban new town
In full: Big PB which always helps when writing a review. Pre race concerns for me (I live in peterboro')were parking and loos but many carparks were actually half empty and lots of loos. Good support from people who'd come out of their house to cheer EVERYONE. Seen some comments on here regarding start but seemed to work fine for me and chip timing negates many start problems anyway.
