In short: The new route is more challenging but in the right conditions a great run :)
In full: I've run the old Purbeck 10k a few times and wasn't sure what to expect when I saw new organisers and a new route. Overall I was pleasantly surprised. The race was really well organised - even down to dealing with the challenge of finding latecomers a parking space. The marshalls were many in number and always cheerful and encouraging. The 'town crier' with the bell at the start and the half way mark (how did he get there so quick without passing me?!) was a nice touch. It's an undulating course, none of the hills are too tough and every uphill was followed immediately by a "recovery" downhill. I'll definitely be doing it again as it's a great race in a great location...oh, and against all expectations I got a new PB here too :D

In short: Even better this year with superb weather on the day!
In full: This was my 4th half-marathon and my 2nd time on this particular race. It's got a fair mix of slopes and plenty of flat running through the middle miles and the last couple - went for a meal at the Durley afterwards, so all in all a great day out!

In short: Second year on this track and there will be a third :) A great run
In full: Either my sixth mile was the fastest mile I've run in a while or the mile markers were unevenly spaced... couldn't say. It's an exposed course but this year conditions suited the run perfectly. Well organised as ever. Still chuckle when I remember hearing the course record was "1 minute 24 set by Michael Schumacher" announced on the loudspeakers. The crowds around the 10 mile mark are very encouraging if, like me, you're starting to tire - I only do this distance a couple of times a year!

In short: This was my first haf marathon and a great event. The novelty of running round Silverstone wil never wear off!
