In short: a once in a life-time 'must do'
In full: Was more anxious about this one than anything I've ever done, and felt (understandably)daunted by the finish over the 7 Sisters and up to Beachy Head. Waking up to near gale force winds and heavy rain almost finished me off!!! However, I had a fantastic day. The course is challenging, but the scenery is more than worth it. Marshalls in abundance and very friendly too. Much more support than I imagined there would be, and the weather came good in the end. I'll definitely do this again!

In short: 2 lap course - undulating with some grass and trail
In full: Pleasant and generally well organised. Lots of friendly marshalls. The undulations are not too bad, but the course twists and turns a fair bit, and there is a bit of grass and trail running.

In short: A friendly half-marathon on a small scale
In full: Small scale race, although this was a 'test run' I think. Would be a shame to turn it into a huge event - size isn't everything! Definite PB potential if the wind isn't too bad.

In short: Flat course, excellent organisation, and great support all round!
In full: This was my second time on this course and it won't be my last. The organisation is fantastic from beginning to end. The marshalls are great and the locals offer plenty of support. 4 drink stations seemed plenty and the 2 sponge stations were a bonus. Good quality medal and refreshments at the end. One of my favourite races!

In short: My favourite half marathon
In full: The hills get easier year on year.....I just hope this event doesn't get too big! It took me over 2 mins to cross the start line this year and my first 2 miles were frustratingly slow.

In short: My second GNR and a huge disappointment - not sure I'll risk my life to do it again.
In full: All the things that I disliked about this run first time around were even more of a problem second time around. The start is chaotic with people taking absolutely no notice of their bib colours and predicted finish time etc. Badly marked water stations and runners happy to knock others over in order to get themselves a drink. Local kids abusing runners and chucking water bottles (full) left right and centre. I hit the deck twice and have some huge bruises to show for it!! On the plus side - great crowds and support all along the route, plus lots of money raised for charity.
