In short: Hmm!! In full: I didn't really suffer too many of the issues that many people have raised ut that's probably down to the fact that I was quite away up the field. There did look like there was not alot of water available for the many thousands that were behind me which I think is a real issue the organisers need to address. These are exactly the people that really need the fluid. A friend drove to fairly near the park as in the past and it was an easy walk/jog to the start line. The delayed start was for the benefit of everyone and I didn't really have a problem with making sure everyone was there. I'm not really bothered about the lack of a t-shirt but I think that if your promised something then it should be given to you. I know it will be something many people will be proud to wear. The course was tougher than previously and that was confirmed by the winner who I chatted with at the finish.
So in all, well done to you all and some lessons to be learned by the organisers but thanks for stepping in when FLM stepped out. Without them there would have not been any race to moan about. Date of review: March 25, 2007
In short: An enjoyable race which I will do again. In full: Posted a PB by over 7 minutes and finished in the top 40. To the guy that mentioned going down Parliment Street as me and my companion flew past everyone "You won't be running up so fast", the idea is that going as fast as possible downhill will compensate for slowing up on the way back. And I can't remember anyone passing us from about mile one onwards so the tactics do work. Also congratulations to all of you who finished on Sunday. The nice thing about running is that everything you do is special to you. 1/2 marathons are not easy so you all give yourselves a massive pat on the back. YOU DESERVE IT!! In short: A nice way to spend a Sunday morning In full: Thought the race was organised well and agree that the t-shirt was very nicely designed. However unless I cheated what was the 4 Hills bit about on the t-shirt. There were 3 and a half laps and two inclines on each lap. Please can someone help me!!! Date of review: March 5, 2006
In short: Fast course with good chance of PB time. In full: I can uderstand people not being happy about baggage tent etc. but I thoroughly enjoyed the race. The course was flat and completely traffic free which is a bonus. I was lucky enough to get to the turn early and avoid the crowd and to be honest coming from London it is a pleasure to run along the waterfront road in Liverpool. When you run on a course with traffic you may start to appreciate a traffic free course. But yes as I said I can understand people being unhappy. Date of review: October 15, 2005
In short: A well run and fun race In full: A few uphills but lots of fast downhills. Very well marshalled with the only drawback that some of the race is run over busy roads. Will be back next year. Date of review: June 26, 2005
