In short: well organised flat run In full: Organisation of the event was very good - clear markings and lots of encouragement by the helpers. It was a very quick start but runners of all standards soon began to find their own paces - which was supported by a good flat route. Sharing the country roads with tractors and horses made life a bit interesting, but overall a good race that was suitable for slow plodders, like myself, to the more serious runner. In short: A hard climb against harsh winds... but all smiles at the end! In full: The climb to the top of the hill was very steep & not helped by big muddy puddles. Roaring gales didn't make life easy either & any times I was forced to walk as running against the head winds seemed pointless. However, the marshals were supportive & helpful, even though they had to stand for ages in the cold - especially the poor soul at the top next to the monument. It was my partner's first ever race.... he booked into the bath half marathon the next day... so a big thank you... he's hooked!!! Date of review: November 19, 2007

In short: A really pleasant race with a great sea view section. In full: I really enjoyed this race & the organisation was good. The route was well marked and supported by marshalls. The only down sides were - not enough loos at the start and had to wait too long to get through the crowds to leave the castle area. However, generally a super race. Date of review: October 14, 2007

In short: Not the best day - even with a PB! In full: Putting the fact that the course is rather dull (except seeing the Clifton suspension bridge and SS Great Britain) to one side, this year the organisation of the event was poor. Not enough water stalls at regular intervals, large amounts of the course being on cobbled streets, the goody bags (one tin of soup!!! Not very useful after a race!!) and drinks after the finish line were difficult to find and then the access for pedestrians to move across roads were all less than acceptable Whilst today was not my first half in Bristol & I am a Bristolian, I felt the runners and those watching were let down. In short: A generally flat race that allowed every ability to take part. Certainly a PB course as a quick start by all, however, plenty of room for slower runners like myself. A really enjoyable event. Date of review: June 1, 2007
