In short: Highly recommended but not one for the faint hearted!
In full: Got off to a slightly worrying start with the published event car parks being full by 8:20, although to be fair the pre race notes did warn of this and there were plenty of side roads to park in. Regards the event itself, there's little more to add to what has already been published on the race. A very well organised event, making the most of the surrounding countryside. The scenic route was mostly traffic free to runners (BTW - well done to all the marshalls who probably had to deal with some annoyed drivers!) Chip timing, an excellent t-shirt and goodie bag plus a superb medal. One suggestion for improvement for next year - the queues for the loos looked very long with just 20 minutes to go before the start of the race so perhaps a few more next year? Well done to all involved in organising the race and a big thank you to the marshalls.

In short: A low key but friendly event with a nice return stretch along the Basingstoke canal path..
In full: First time I've done this race with a nice stretch back along the Basingstoke canal path. The event seemed fairly low key but offered a friendly atmosphere as a result. Tidy organisation at the start amd finish and well marshalled at the two main road crossing points - no problems experienced here. Shame about the distance being reduced to 7.3 miles. Although relatively flat, I'm not sure this is a PB course due to the non- standard distance and the width of the tow path in parts. I would imagine the route would be far more scenic in the spring or summer months. A good race for beginners. Possibly a little pricey compared to other races of a similar distance but I would certainly recommend this event and will enter it again. Thanks to the marshalls who braved the weather!

In short: Good start of year benchmark race that can make you regret the excesses of the holiday season!
In full: A two lap course comprising on and off-road terrain with runner's finding themselves either running up or down a series of challenging hills with very little flat ground on the route. Despite the challenge, a very good early new year race to test your fitness but not one to be recommended for beginners.

In short: Unacceptable delay at the start - the organisers need to reduce entry numbers to more realistic levels in order to cope with the logistics of the day.
