In short: good decision to cancel
In full: A brave decision to cancel, but one taken early enough to avoid unwanted journeys like we have seen so many people make the journey to week last week only to be told to go home again. So yes, saturday and sunday were lovely days weatherwise but out on the course it was a different story, the back roads around miles 8 and 9 were still icy and unrunable. So yes it was disappointing the race was cancelled but that pb can wait. At least we have all avoided any injuries to be able to run that next race! just hope the organisers can come up with a suitable replacement date.
