In short: Good race, as ever - but p*** poor organising( not for the first time)
In full: This race has outgrown the city - the options are:
(a) hand it back to Bath AC (or Team Bath as they are now called) and turn it back into the great local club race that it was a few years ago, with a restriction on the numbers of about 2500 - 3000. Yes, I appreciate that will not be popular with lots of people who are not local, but the country is not exactly starved of Half Marathons at this time of the year
(b) Professional organisers will have to move the event out of the city centre with possibly 2 starts and consider limiting the entry to 10,000, but where ? It comes back to the fact that there is not enough room for this size of event in the city.
After the mud bath that was the Rec, I doubt if the council will grant permission for the sports village to be sited there next year anyway (some local residents are going to have a serious sense of humour failure over the state of their local bit of 'green' !!)
