In short: Truly eccentric but thoroughly enjoyable
In full: Sooooooo apprehensive beforehand esp about the cut off (still think that is unfair especially when runners have trained hard to do a marathon) but in the end one of the most uplifting races I have done. Despite very sore quads and consequent hobbling around the office today I have had a smile on my face reflecting on aspects of a memorable day. Marshalls were fantastic - many thanks! Friendly and enthusiastic. Crisps were v welcome at halfway, salt helps. Weather fab. Tripped up a few times (once by a kamikaze dog just before Leith hill on the return and my language was not ladylike) but luckily not disastrously but you need to watch your footing. All in all a great day out and the most local race ever for me (half a mile from home).
