In short: Fast, well-organised and.... cake
In full: The course seemed just slightly harder to me this time with more turns round bollards and cones - but a lovely fast route and great for me as it's close to home.

Well organised with some good goodies, a medal, certificate and a banana for your trouble, plus hot drinks and cake available back at base.

In short: Good support and pretty fast course through the refreshing October drizzle
In full: Generally good course and organisation. Bit tricky getting up to speed in the crowd for the first couple of miles but it got better. Uphill last mile quite tough. Good support around the route. Great to see Birmingham putting itself on the running map at last.

Only gripe was that local transport was rubbish (considering the sponsors more effort could have been made to coordinate this to give public transport options!) Planned to take the bus in, left plenty of time, but because no extras were put on and the trains weren't running the buses were full and not letting anyone else on, leaving driving as the only option.

In short: Challenging race, needed more water stations
In full: Tough course (as you'd expect) which made the sole water station completely inadequate in my opinion - definitely my biggest gripe as despite carrying my own water too I was suffering by the end.

But great t-shirt and goodie bag, well marked and interesting course. Lots of mud and climbs. Good parking near the start/finish. Mostly good!

Probably wouldn't do the same one again, but would do another in the series!

In short: Two laps of a largely flat course in a Birmingham park
In full: Two laps including an out-and-back section means you get to see how the rest of the field are doing. There was one turn round a post but otherwise a fast course. Cakes and squash always welcome and a nice little goody bag with medal. Impressed. PB was a bonus, of course...

In short: Good washing machine essential
In full: Great fun and IMO well worth doing. Certainly tough at least if you're more used to tarmac (that is to say, like me). Mud, sludge and water gets everywhere and the ups and downs just keep coming.

In short: Lovely setting and a good cause, muddy with km markers in seemingly random places
In full: Negotiating gates, mud and ruts made the going tough for people (like me) who are accustomed to roads. Slow one resulted for me, but nice to run in a small, friendly field. Not sure what was going on with the km markers...
Fruit and bottle of water at the end as well as a medal was very nice - unexpected bonus!
