In short: Bloody marvellous In full: It's been seven years since I last did this race, way too long. Fab organisation, friendly marshals, beautiful route and incorporating the hilarious Wife Carrying race. Thank you Dr Rob for another fab event. Date of review: March 8, 2015
In short: Tadworth AC do it again In full: Another fab Tadworth 10 by Tadworth AC. Featuring a new course this year (huge improvement, interesting and multi-terrain) the marshals and organisation were spectacular.
Always a popular race to start the spring marathon training season. it fully deserves the great reputation. Well done to Alan, Mary, Pat and the rest of the team. Date of review: January 5, 2014
In short: Congrats to Dr Rob once again In full: Despite the hideous conditions he managed to put on an event that will go down in history, be told in legend and is easily a candidate for race of the year. I've never laughed so much in an event ever. It was a fabulous start to the year and already I can't wait to do it again.
An extra special mention must go to the marshals who were absolutely fabulous in extremely testing conditions. Each and ever one of you was amazing. Huge thanks go to you all Date of review: January 1, 2014
In short: Lovely low key race In full: My first Epsom 10 miler, it won't be my last. A low key club run providing everything you need. Marshals were fabulous and cheery. Local traffic non intimidating and patient. 2 water stations were fine. The route was lovely and although undulating/hilly had plenty of long sweeping downhills for recovery. Fab race and would highly recommend it. Date of review: November 17, 2013
In short: Even better this year... In full: Dr Rob delivers another classic. I ran the whole of this race with a huge smile on my face. Clockwork organisation, brilliant marshals, a beautiful route even the first aid team came out to cheer us on. Thank You.
This race has the benefits of a low key event with as much 'frills and fancy' as you could ever want. Loved it. Well done Dr Rob and all who helped make it a great race. Date of review: September 22, 2013
In short: Nice race but In full: On paper the race ticked all the boxes and I desperately wanted to love it so much. But in the end I didn't.
I was at the back of the field and on my own for very long periods of time. Often the marshals were unresponsive, blanking me completely when I shouted a cheery hello and thank you. I was constantly having to ask which way to go and didn't always get a definitive answer. So often I wasn't even sure I was on the correct route. It was just so frustrating and quite unnerving at times. (Big exceptions were the lady marshalling the small loop and the chap splitting the half and full routes, both were fab :o)
Then I came across the three dressed in 'fancy dress'? What the hell was that about? It completely freaked me out, really scared me (not an easy feat by any means) which pretty much finished this race off for me.
There was nothing at all wrong with the race and please don't let this put you off coming along and having a go at it. As you can see, most people love it and had a fabulous time. I guess for whatever reason it just wasn't for me. Date of review: September 16, 2013
In short: Looking a little bit unloved this year In full: Ive done this race a few times in the past and always really enjoyed it. But this year, all of the little touches that make races great were missing. The route is lovely and marshals out on the course were very smily and encouraging. And of course, those are the most important bits. But, no water at the finish, no communication from the organisers prior to the event and no one handing out medals at the finish, (they were just left on the table for people to help themselves) just felt like organisers were just going through the motions this year. Hopefully the will sort it out for next year Date of review: May 6, 2013
In short: The lovely ladies from the Epsom Allsorts do it again In full: Beautiful weather brought out short sleeves and smily faces for this annual event famed for tea and cake. Friendly relaxed organisation, pretty route, and welcoming attitude makes this the perfect race for experienced runners and those looking to do their first race.
In short: Lovely run in the countryside In full: Exploring paths and trails runners are not normally permitted on. Everything you would ever want at a race was there. Easy number pick up, clear signage, helpful, cheery marshals, and a bacon butty van with big cups of tea :0). Lovely way to spend a Sunday morning. Date of review: March 10, 2013
