In short: Good tough race.
In full: Pros: Great challenging race on a nice course and a really good atmosphere.

Cons: A sleepy marshall let the first two runners head off in the wrong direction, it was only about twenty metres but still a bit annoying. Could have done with a couple of extra marshalls in certain places. The organisers made a bit of a joke about how very few people were at the presentation to pick up their prizes but the fact is it shouldn't have taken so long to start the presentation. Despite these minor gripes I thoroughly enjoyed the race!

In short: Complete lack of atmosphere!
In full: This race costs £44 (without a BTF licence), for that you get a nice energy drink at the finish and not much else! There was no medal or even a t-shirt for many of us who didn't turn up early enough. But that is forgiveable if they can put on a great race with a good atmosphere... however this fell somewhat short of that. There were barely any spectators and the marshalls didn't offer any encouragement whatsoever. It's nice to cycle on smooth tarmac but nine laps of the some course is a little boring. The prizes weren't even worth the money it costs to enter!

In short: A great race!
In full: This is the second time I've done this race and I absolutely love it.
On the way to the race there were major roadworks and a massive hold up. Cars were dashing all over the place to try and get to the start on time. This wouldn't happen at other major races. There were people that didn't even make the start and just joined in as the race approached them not far from the start and there were lots of people still queuing for the loo's when the race started. The starting area is not big enough for the number of people in the race. The gentleman with the 3rd fastest chip time (1:10) actually finished roughly 2000th and with a time of 1:51 meaning it took him 41 minutes to cross the start line!
However once you get going this is a great race! I love the course. The medal and tshirt are great as is the optional massage and bananas!

In short: Well organised race, two laps of a nice course.
In full: This was definitely not flat as advertised, although saying that the climbs were not steep, slopes rather than hills. The course is fairly scenic. It's a two lap course which I think helps in terms of targeting a particular time. I could see how some people may find that a bit tedious. The technical t-shirt was great!

In short: Brilliant marshals!
In full: This was my first time at this event. I was incredibly impressed by the organisation and even more impressed by the support given by the marshals all over the course. The route was very scenic and had some challenging slopes in places including the 400m drag up to the finish. Great value for money. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks.
