In short: Another great day out In full: Cannot fault this event. Lovely start and finish venue, nice and mostly flat mostly off-road course, great marshals (hi Alice!), plenty of water stops, supporters can watch from the pub part-way round, excellent baggage stow (important for non-motorists), distinctive medal. Rescheduled twice this year because of the weather. Others might have cancelled and said "sorry no refunds". Like all Purple Patch events, this one's to do every year - when do I sign up for 2014? In short: A tough one but worth it In full: I ran last year's inaugural outing and made sure to get in for this year's as well. Excellent organization and start venue with, unusually, decent and enough loos (it's a large Wetherspoons pub). Course is rather, erm, lumpy and has several little kicks left when you think you've climbed the last one. But it is Cornwall ... nice pasty at the finish. No can of Tribute this year (boo!) but still fine value. See you next year. Date of review: March 17, 2013

In short: A nice little village green race In full: The start was a little congested but otherwise a fine little race, good start and finish venue and decent weather for a change. Smooth organization as always, and the flapjacks and jelly babies at the finish were a touch of class :-) Date of review: March 3, 2013

In short: Another Purple Patch success In full: The best race organizers always make sure to arrange the weather in advance :-)
This is a nice little jaunt along the canal, with start and finish venues good for public transport. Course is mostly flat but with some short climbs, and can be a bit muddy and sloppy underfoot. Bag stowage excellent, which matters for those of us who don't have a car. Smoothly organized as ever, plenty of water stops and a nice medal.
Really good event, must come back next year. Date of review: November 11, 2012

In short: A nice jog in the woods In full: Gorgeous setting, with the beeches all in their autumnal colours. Nice little low-key event, this one: turn up, get your number and run. The friendly and helpful staff and slightly shambolic atmosphere all add to the charm. Haven't done this one for a few years so good to rediscover it and will try to do it again. In short: No-frills race In full: Turn up and run ... old-fashioned 10K race, bare bones, no chip timing or new-fangled stuff like that. Good start/finish venue and a decent flat course with a few twists and turns. And well marshalled and with good baggage stow as always with PP events. See you next year! In short: A nice run in the woods In full: Held on the hottest day of the year in 2012 but it is August ... Extra water was laid on, which is a sign of alert organizers. Great two-lap course with ups and downs but no brutal climbs, and plenty of shade in the woods. Superb organization, especially the baggage stow (important for non-motorists like me). Lovely start venue with lots of space and a pool for those who like a post-race dip (not bothered myself but there were plenty doing this). Done this one many times and will be back. In short: Lovely run along the river In full: My third outing on this one, I think. The course is lovely, although this year's was amended because of the Olympics at Dorney. Organization excellent as ever, especially the baggage stow (essential for us non-drivers who can't leave stuff in the car). The first hot day of summer so I suffered in the heat but otherwise a nice day out. I'll be back. Date of review: July 22, 2012
