In short: Hard but fun
In full: As long as you enjoy hills you'll love Clarendon. Well organised, buses to the start and well organised bag collection at the end.

Thanks to the organisers, good fun in a painful kind of a way!

In short: What a hill!
In full: The positives - great organisation, friendly atmosphere, lots of drink stations, great local support, encouraging marshalls and excellent value for money (decent medal, t-shirt, apple, orange, mars bar, pepsi, water and sweets all for £9 entry - bargain!).

The negatives - the first mile and half is dominated by a HUGE hill which completely zapped an awful lot of runners and makes a pb nigh on impossible as you will always be fighting the clock to claw back lost seconds. Only other complaint would be no signage for drink stations meant you had no time to take a gel before grabbing a cup.

To conclude, for a run, great. For a race and a pb, look elsewhere.

In short: Great race and a great day out
In full: Really enjoyed this run. The organisation was excellent from start to finish, they had fun runs and kids activities for those with families making it suitable for a family day out, not just a run.

The course was predominantly flat and PBs could easilly be done - I did!

The weather was glorious, hot when the sun was out but the occassional cloud cover and a breeze made it great weather for running.

All in all highly recommended, go along and enjoy in 2008.

In short: Very Wet but Smashed my PB
In full: The weather was very wet but as the vast majority of the course is on road / pavement that didn't really matter (if anything it made the race faster). The course is predominantly flat, couple of inclines but nothing that you would call a serious hill and hence this also helps if you want to set a fast time. Though not inspiring much of the course is through woodland areas and fairly pretty but in the rain nothing looks great!

Would do it again, nice medal and glass waiting for you at the end, and well organised, speciall thanks to the marshals who were all cheerful despite being soaked to the bone!!!

In short: Great race
In full: Well organised and a nice picturesque location on a flat course with definite PB potential. Weather helped this year, bright but a nice breaze meant that it was not too hot.

Enjoyable so will be back next year!

In short: Nice run and good organisation
In full: Exceptionally well organised and marshalled from start to finish, well done to all who were involved.

Main criticism was that it was really warm, which was bad enough then at about 10m you have to run past a lovely pub with a beer garden which to me just seemed cruel :-)

In short: A great first half marathon
In full: As my first half I was a little worried but in the end these were very misplaced. The organisation was excellent (especially the bag drop off) and everyone was friendly as you would expect in a city like Brighton.

The course is predominantly flat and along the coast so for 9 miles you have a lovely view of the sea, probably would be hellish though in bad weather.

Despite other comments I didn't find the hill at 11m too bad and the upside is that you then got to go down again after 12m which gave you good momentum into the final mile. Overall I really enjoyed it, set a PB as it was my first half but think I could easilly have run faster had I been more ambitious from the off.

In short: Biggest problem was the mud over the first mile - hardly their fault. Had it been dry the PB potential would have been much higher. Nice race though.
