In short: Hilly and wet, but great marshalls and fab pud at the end.
In full: Missed last years 10k so came back hoping to fulfill a p.b. Not so, it was cold, rainy but another triumph for the club who organise this race. Fab Marshalls who were encouraging particularly up the hill, good encouragement from others waiting for friends to finish and also those stood in doorways.
Yes it is more hilly then the previous course but if it wasn't raining I reckon the view would be fantastic. I look forward to next year. Many Thanks

In short: What a way to have that last race before the Christmas Rot sets in.
In full: This is the second time i've run this race and apart from one idiot driving by and shouting at the runners it was an absolute pleasure to run. The one thing I forgot was the "playful hills" The crowd and marshalling is fab along with the burger van at the end!! The watch was a nice momento instead of a t shirt. Due to the atmosphere I will return a perhaps do an even better time next year.

In short: Excellent race, fantastic views, good marshalling playfully hilly!
In full: As a first timer to this race I found the map useful my only grumble was the distinct lack of toilet paper in the toilets come on organisers we are ladies. The start of the race through to the finish had excellent marshalling, wonderful views but oh boy those hills or was it one never ending hill it all became a bit of a blur but once 4.5 miles was reached it was all downhill running.
Loved the t shirt and cap at the end, will complete again next year just to see the views. Excellent job done by club and runners alike

In short: What a way to spend a Sunday Morning but, well worth getting up for. I would recommend to any "mad" runner that wanted something different!!
In full: The Rugby rover was well worth getting up for, everyone was friendly, biscuits at the check points (I had a jammie dodger!!) This race is DEFINATLY not for beginners although they could do the walk. Fantaastic views of the surrounding countryside and if you got there late enough you could have a swift half at one check point as it was at a pub!!. I would recommened this run to any mad marathoner who wants somthing different this is a absolute "gem" of a race that is small and well worth a trip. Although the day after I ached in places I never knew existed but, I shall be there next year.

In short: Fantastic organisation, marshalling and for an extreemly good cause.
In full: Really well organised race, marshalling and brilliant support by the water station (thanks girls). Nearly stopped at the pub cooking and selling a bar-b-que though. Local race for me and look forward to next year. Only down side for me was the high 5 given at the first water station as i'm not keen.

In short: Fantastic race, excellent organisation, See you next year!!
In full: A really good way of blowing the cobwebs from your hair on a cold December morning. I did find it a bit hilly and will put more training in before I run again next year. Christmas songs were great at the beginning though!! The T Shirt is well worth the entry money.

In short: First ever marathon if the rest are organised as well as this I've been converted
In full: Fantastic views, friendly runners, so very well organised, marshalls deserve a pat on the back, few spectators but those who made the effort were greatfully received by everyone and to top it off started with a pipe band with a lone piper around half way. Thankyou Inverness i'm already looking forward to next year. Who needs city/town marathons!

In short: The fantastic Great North Run an honour to compete.
In full: Fantastic race although could have done with more water due to conditions. Thanx to the public who squirted runners with hose pipes and water gave out ice pops, biscuits, oranges and sweets I couldn't have finished without you. Hope the guy called "Jonathon" who collapsed at 12 mile mark taken to hospital by the red cross made it home safely. Well done to all the medics who gave up their time free of charge such a big race couldn't happen without your time and help. Congratulations Great North Run I look forward to watching you on t.v. next year!NOT!!
