In short: Great support by the marshalls
In full: 2nd time of doing race. Really liked the impromptu water stations which the marshalls did after 3 miles. It's a very up & down race with a large(ish) hill roundabout 4 miles and then it's more downhill than up. Goody bag had a nice water bottle in but more use if you bike than run. Will definitely be back for next year and fingers crossed another pb.

In short: Sligthly below par thanks to a couple of marshalls
In full: I usually say that this the best race I do each year. However I was very disappointed by a couple marshalls' attitudes to non club runners. They basically left that if you weren't a club runner then you shouldn't have been in the sub 25 min group. Yes there was a sign saying "club runners, sub 25 min". To me that means that if you can run sub 25 min then it's open to you as well. They would let a couple of teenage girls in until they said they run for their school.

The communication at the start was a bit of a shambles as the marshalls were told that they were going to let us go in the 2nd wave of runners however we went off with the sub 25 min lot and they couldn't get the rope away quick enough and it wrapped round my foot. I dread to think what would have happened if I'd fallen over.

Despite this I will be back for next year's event because it's one of my favourite races.

In short: Great marshalls
In full: My first marathon but don't think I'll do another marathon again.

The marshalls were brilliant. Didn't have any problems with the Greenway at all.

Didn't really appreciate the banana at the end because it had been out in the heat all the time and the changing rooms were locked up so had to get changed in the loos near the cafe which wasn't ideal.

In short: Nice little race around country lanes
In full: When the race information came through it did say that there wasn't any water stations on the 6k route and water was only available at the finish.

Luckliy the organisers saw sense and did put a water station in.

The bridle path was a nice refuge from the sun. It was just a pity that this was at the beginning of the course rather than at the end.

In short: If you can't train well over winter don't do this race wait til March/April
In full: I've never been one for organised warm-ups however the warm-up was great and much needed. Only did about 5 training runs before the race (needed to rethink how I train over the winter)

ALL the marshalls were brill and gave loads of encouragement.

A novel idea to get the t-shirt before the race would have preferred it in the goody bag but they were handing out the t-shirts based on size so fair enough.

Medal is really nice and because it's so different from the others I've had.

In short: What a great morning!
In full: This was my first half. Being so close to home I just couldn't resist it and it didn't disappoint.

The atmosphere was 200% better than the Hydro Active in Hyde Park. This was partly thanks to the wonderful Marshalls were brilliant and the people who live on Radford Road were really supportive as well.

Great race for your debut half.

In short: What a day (nearly sub 30 min)
In full: Last year the organisation at the start was awful (to put it mildly).

This year I thought I was at a different race. Although some walkers did creep into the sub 25 and I overtook them when they was walking just after the start and I was at the front of the sub 35.

Whinge over.

PB POTENTIAL DEFINATELY!!!!!

I slashed just over 5 min from last year's time and the goody bag seemed lighter which I really liked. Last year's was too heavy. Although I'm pleased to say that the quality of the bag is just as good.

I would definately recommend this event to anyone (whether they be a new runner or Little Miss Speedy Legs).

In short: Great day, excellent goody bag, shame about the start
In full: Spectated last year thought I'd give the race ago. Start was a shambles, I had to ask at an information point where it was. There were no markers with predicted finish times to guide you. I got nearer to the front than I wanted so may have held some people up with them having to avoid me. The walkers & runners should look at their info pack. When I had my 2 walk breaks I moved right over to the right and back to the left when I started running. Despite this both runners pushed past me on the right hand side and walkers got in my way on the left.

All in all a good and a PB is possible if you get near the front. All my friends got a PB.
