In short: Lovely little event In full: The first time I've run this event and I have to say I'm mightily impressed. The organisation was superb with lots of encouraging marshalls to keep you going. Chip timing, plus a great medal and T shirt rounded things off nicely. Well done Handy Cross Runners. See you there next year. Date of review: May 9, 2010

In short: Fantastic organisation and the rain held off!! In full: Yet again Maidenhead put on a fantastic show with this event, the organisation was spot on. The first three miles are a little boring just doing circuits of the business park, but the interest picks up at 4 miles when you head across country. It's almost perfectly flat so fairly quick, and just to prove it I got a PB by well over a minute! Many thanks to the organisers and the enthusiastic marshalls. I'll be back next year! In short: Great fun event, clockwork organisation In full: That was such fun! Not a race to be treated seriously. The darkness, uneven ground and in places narrow paths limit any PB potential, but for a fun way to spend Halloween in the company of lots of witches, devils, ghouls and ghosts it couldn't be beaten! Top marks to the organisers - it went like clockwork, and a T shirt, head-torch, mug and pumpkin soup all for the entry fee - a great event. Hope it becomes a regular feature. In short: Flat and scenic In full: Another smooth as silk event from Purple Patch runners. The route alternates direction each year, this year was Marlow to Windsor. The course is flat and scenic in either direction, although you do have to watch your feet as there are tree routes, bumps and dips ready to catch you out if you aren't paying attention. The marshalls were very cheery and supportive throughout, so many thanks to them. Another great event, see you there next year. Date of review: July 26, 2009

In short: Why aren't all races like this? In full: This event always seems to go so smoothly. Enough loos, lots of cheery marshalls, pancake flat course built for speed. It's almost perfect. A say almost, as because the course is so exposed you can suffer in any wind. But the organsiers can't be blamed for that. A timing mat at the start so there is chip to chip time and not gun to chip time would be ideal, but it was only 20 seconds out for me, and I got a PB by 44 seconds so I'm well pleased. See you all there next years. Date of review: June 6, 2009

In short: An awesome experience. In full: For my first marathon this experience just couldn't be beaten. A northerner exiled in the deep south, I've run the Great North Run several times and thought it couldn't be beaten, but I'm afraid to say it was! The organisation was like clockwork, the crowds were deafening, and the whole day was just incredible. My only complaint was that it was a bit warm, but I don't think we can blaim the organisers for that! A fantastic day which I hope to repeat again next year Date of review: April 29, 2009

In short: Excellent organisation and a PB as well! In full: Great organisation, loads of loos, efficient baggage tent and water stops. They even organised the weather to be perfect! I had a great day, even better as I ran my first sub 2 hour half, a PB by over 5 mins. See you all next year! Date of review: March 29, 2009

In short: This would have been a lovely run apart from the sun In full: The scenery on the whole run is beautiful, specially the bit between Maidenhead and Cookham, but it was just too hot to enjoy it. Had it been a little cooler this would have been a delightful race, but in the end it was a bit of a slog in the sun. The only flaw in the organisation was that they ran out of water at the last water station, but other than that the organisation was spot on. I was very grateful to the lady with the water spray at Bourne End. I will definitely do this one again next year and keep my fingers crossed it won't be as hot again. Date of review: July 27, 2008

In short: Excellent organisation! In full: This is one of the best organised races I have taken part in. Good parking, plenty loos, access to the culb house (more loos), supervised baggage, lots of water stations, cheery marshalls, great goody bag, this race had it all. The only thing wrong was beyond the organisers control, the promised cloud and drizzle never materialised, and we ran in bright sunshine with a bit of a headwind on the out legs making them hot, hard work. Apart from that, full marks to the organisers. They were even posting the provisional results as the later runners were coming in. Will definitely do it again next year. Date of review: June 7, 2008

In short: Wet and fantastic In full: Can't blame the organisers for the appalling weather when we arrived and were waiting for the start, but it made the run challenging! My only criticism was the wave start. I was in the blue wave had there were people at the front walking 3 or 4 abreast right from the start, and some quite quick runners were stuck in the green wave. This needs to be sorted for next year and runners should be lined up according to their predicted finish time (I know thats not perfect either but it has to be better than what we had today). Apart from that, the run was fantastic. Running part of the 2012 Olympic marathon route and finishing on The Mall was rather special. I'll definitely be back next year, hopefully in better weather!
