In short: Just perfect!
In full: This was the 10th different half marathon I have done and it's easily the best. Lovely course with 360° horizons, the right ammount of 'undulation' with the climbs in the right place, friendly enthusiastic marshalls, excellent start/finish area. Slight niggle - no medal, but I'll forgive them that.

In short: Some teething problems but they didn't spoil my day
In full: Quite a challenging course, though the hills were (mostly) in the right place in the first half. Half an hour in traffic queueing for the carpark coming from the town centre, (from 8:10 to 8:40. 50minutes to get out of carpark but it was well marshalled and they did their best.

In short: Excellent
In full: Nicely organised with attention to detail. (Painting the trip-hazard larger stones on the dirt path section) Enthusiastic marshalls, interesting new course.

In short: Hot and hilly with some nice scenic bits.
In full: Interesting course with every conceivable type of scenery from the concrete of the ring road to some very pleasant countryside, with everything in between.
The finish area could have been a little more organised. I arrived home still wearing the timing chip after completely missing the removal team.

In short: Interesting course though congested at times
In full: Some problems when the faster runners try to lap the slower runners on the narrow lane. Not helped by earphones-wearing runners not hearing requests to keep to one side.
Otherwise an enjoyable race.

In short: Queues at finish line ruined it.
In full: All of of the other problems are overshadowed by having to queue at the finish. This was my 13th 1/2M and I've never encountered that before.

In short: Just need to sort the finish area out.
In full: Suggestions for improvements...

Move the start to Princes St. That would be a memorable experience and reduce some of the complaints about not enough of the city centre being included in the route.

Persuade the Racecourse management to allow the use of the vast acres available for the reunion area.

FIND SOMEWHERE CLOSER THAN 1.6 MILES FROM THE FINISH(as measured on Google Earth)FOR THE SHUTTLE BUSES!

Provide some run-through showers. (The locals' efforts were very welcome and well meaning, but some of them didn't quite grasp the difference between a pleasant cooling mist and a deluge!)

Start an hour earlier.

Otherwise, a wonderful event. Excellent medal and a high quality T shirt.

In short: Ticks (nearly) all the boxes
In full: Smooth organisation, nice finish area, imaginative memento as usual. It's not traffic free, but I'm being picky (The motorists are more inconvenienced than the runners.)
Usually a tough one in the heat, but it's funny how the cool weather and rain flattens the hills!
