In short: Must do better!
In full: Surprised more people weren't injured. Organisers thought it was acceptable to get everyone lined up on the start line and THEN announce that the start would be delayed. Never been so cold in my life. Stood with just race gear on for what seemed ages but probably in reality 30 mins. Too long anyway, felt like mental torture - was such a pleasure/relief to start running. Reason being something to do with race chips that didn't work anyway. Husband is still waiting for reply for his actual finish time 12 months later! Nevermind, just unlikely to enter again. Shame.

In short: It must definetly did not do what it said on the tin!
In full: As someone who struggles to keep to the pace I am capable of in half marathons I was very disappointed/frustrated and confused that this race did not have the mile markers as promised/advertised. I hope there was a ligitament reason why this happened or rather did not happen. The reason offered on the day was because the roads were closed ?????? How was this a surprise to the race organisers? We were running through Northamptonshire not the Outer Hebridies, or perhaps they thought it was a crime scene that needed perserving....sorry starting to rant now! What I am trying to say is that this is a fantastic cause and nobody is trying to take that away but this event is advertised as an ideal training run for London Marathon. So how are people meant to run as hard as they are capable of when they have no idea how they are pacing? I might just aswell have ran without a watch. I'm a fairly reasonable person, I didn't even mind the delayed start - some things are beyond the organisers control. This is a great cause and I appreciate all the people who volunteered on the day, which is probably why I feel guilty moaning but at the end of the day I paid to enter the race and so I expect to receive what I paid for when I entered. I doubt very much I will enter this race again which is a great shame as I only live three miles away but to be honest I feel robbed of a personal best..something that is important to me and should be important to the race organisers. This was meant to be a race wasn't it? As someone else mentioned next year I'll donate the money and enter a 'organised' race. Sorry.

In short: Were the pace markers at the start line written in a foreign language or was there an awful lot of over optimistic runners!
In full: Also when will race organisers of these mass participation events listen to the runners, that have trained bloody hard for these events and can actually complete the stated distance, when they moan about walkers? Now stopping for a breather is not a criminal offence but people running in two's and three's running in the middle of the road and then suddenly coming to a complete halt really gets my goat (you know who you are and if you came across a runner dressed as a gangster trying to shoot you out of the way! THAT WAS ME!!!)
