In short: A big thanks to the marshals In full: As I was doing the half I was sorry for all the marathoners to hear so late; but I think it was the right decision.
I'm not sure how bad the extra loop might have been but I think over 6 hours is too long to expect the marshals to stand there.
I thought the marshals and the support was great considering the conditions.... everything went smoothly for me and there was a lot of encouragement. Date of review: April 29, 2012

The pavement near the end is a bit hard though if you try bouncing off it.

In short: Fantastic views and a lovely varied course. In full: As last year the marshaling was very good and and really enthusiastic. The course is always interesting and varied.
A couple of requests for next year:
1. It would be nice if the results list included the club names where applicable
2. Just after the start at the top of the hill there is a gate with deep ruts and then there were a line of very small cones near the church. With everyone still in a big group at that point you couldn't easily see either and someone tripped over a cone in front of me.
We may have been warned about these before the start but the loud-hailer used wasn't in fact very loud and couldn't be heard above the wind.
All in all a lovely race and a lot of fun!
Oh yes and one more thing... it was nearer 11km than 10!

In short: Tough but lovely scenery and views In full: A really good race, well run; the marshalls were very encouraging.
The only criticism would be that on arrival at the Race HQ (a sports centre) we saw nothing to indicate that a race was actually taking place. We wondered if we had got the wrong place or the wrong day! Date of review: October 19, 2009

In short: A good new race location In full: Considering that it is the first running it was well organised on the whole and everyone was very enthusiastic. A few problems have been mentioned on the forum; but they can easily be corrected for the next one.
On the whole a good first attempt and it certainly offers the chance of a pb... unless like me you have a stinking cold and a sore achilles :)
