In short: Muddy fun!
In full: I love this race. This was my 2nd time and due to the weather it was a completely different experience this year. I thought it was pretty muddy last year but boy-o-boy this years mud was something else! Slippy slidey fun all the way around. Didn't really notice the weather in the end as was soaked from falling in the 1st stream crossing! Sadly you don't get to appreciate the beautiful scenery as you really have to concentrate on where you are putting your feet at all times. I will defo be back year after year for this great race. Big thanks to the marshalls for remaining cheery in the wind and rain.

In short: Loved it!
In full: Loved it last year in the snow and loved it this year in the mud. Fabulous scenery, which you don't really get to see as you really have to concentrate on where you put your feet at all times! Brilliant organisation and marshals and some great support around the course. I love this race.

In short: Very well organised race with lots of friendly marshalls.
In full: This race is very well organised, from the baggage drop to the marshalls on the course. The parking was an interesting one as we were (literally) led all around the houses but ended up within a decent walking distance of the race HQ. The scenery is disappointing for the 1st couple of miles and the last (even more so) but the bit in the middle makes up for it which is lovely undulating country lanes. Not too tough, just challenging enough.

In short: Wow! What a toughy . . .
In full: . . . but absolutely fantastic! This race was fantastically organised with great marshalls all the way around. The sweeties at the water stop were most welcome and probably helped my speediness on the way home! That and the thought of the breakfast! These races are always brilliantly organised and the race memento's were great. Will defo do this again - unless I see sense at some point but am now considering the Greensands. I must be mad . . .

In short: The best race I've ever done - I'll be back! Tee hee . . .
In full: Wow, what a great race. Great atmosphere and the most beautiful route you could ever wish to run with plenty of mud to keep you amused. The breathtaking scenery distracted you from the evilness of the terrain but the feeling of completing the race in good form is simply the best. I am still incredibly chuffed with myself for getting round and still having a smile on my face up the last hill! The 4 hills were calf twanging, thigh burning, lung busting fun. Can't wait to do it again!

In short: Tough, tough, tough!
In full: Great race, which I'm sure is tough enough under normal conditions but with snow, ice and mud to contend with for 7 miles it was a killer! The marshalls were great - many thanks to those who let me know I was 5th lady. It spurred me on to come in as 4th lady! Shame I had to concentrate so much on where I was putting my feet as I couldn't really enjoy the beautiful scenery but hey, I'll be back next year for that! Great race - really enjoyed it and fantastically organised with great support. Well done to all the supporters/marshalls for braving the freezing weather and making this race really special.

In short: Scenic and challenging in parts . . .
In full: Thought the race HQ was great with a fab goody bag and a medal. The first and last couple of miles were rather dull, all along main roads but the middle 6 miles were gorgeous and distracting on rural roads with plenty of undulations. Good atmosphere with lots of club runners and very supportive and cheery marshalls.

In short: A challenging race with fantastic scenery on a beautiful morning.
In full: Although I really enjoyed this race, and would definitely do it again, I do have a couple of niggles. Firstly, the car park is half a mile away from the loo's - next year please could we have some portaloo's in the car park? It's a fair old trek past the start! Also, the bum bag?? I'm afraid that went straight in the bin - a medal or a mug would have been much better.
Apart from the 2 minor issues above, I thought this was a great race. Just the right mix of on and off road which was fun and challenging, and really scenic. It was tough but highly enjoyable and I was pleased to get round in a respectable time. The marshalls were great too.

In short: My knackers (if I had any) would be crackered . . .
In full: wow what a race! I was worried about this one - was I fit enough/would I be hungover? Well no and yes (a bit) but it was great fun and totally crazy! I walked more than I ran but so did alot of people I think, it was tough tough tough! The organisation was fab, everyone was really friendly and supportive and the medal, mug and t-shirt along with all the food laid on a the end was fantastic. What a great race! If my boyfriend lets me (he was not happy about leaving the party early nor getting out of bed with an atrocious hangover) I will be back next year! In fancy dress . . . .

In short: Nice run . . .
In full: I mostly enjoyed this race altho ate too much breakfast and suffered for this most of the way around! Am looking forward to giving it a better go next year. The 'hogs back' wasn't as bad as I had expected and it was a shame about the weather because the view was not viewable! Nice race, good medal but no goodies at the end unless I missed them??
