In short: Wonderful first event, great organisation. Well signed & encouraging marshals did a good job. In full: Nice friendly little club organised event. Very well put together, friendly and well worth the effort. Good mixture of surfaces giving something for everyone. Some distance markers would be the only extra touch. Local races like this are welcome on any runner's calendar. Date of review: May 11, 2013

In short: Great organisation again, weather can't be controlled, the marshalls must have been frozen! In full: Thanks for a good race, as usual a very well organised event. The 2 hills are a real challenge to everyone but part of the character of the race. The rest of the course is fairly quick. Traffic management was good, no issues. Stadium start and finish is great for runner & spectators. A BIG thank you to the marshalls who gave so much and must have frozen out there in the wind & snow. Everyone deserves thanks for this event, long may it continue. Date of review: March 11, 2013

In short: Well done Mablethorpe, first class day, great event. In full: Great value as many races are now expensive and don't offer enough. Pan flat course, maybe a few twisty bits in the town and before the prom' section that breaks the rythmn a little but a great route. Marshalls superb good water stations plus 'extra' bottles from marshalls if needed. The weather gods also did a great job on the day with blue skies and no wind, thank you! Probably do this one again, a great reason to visit the seaside, just hope it is never a wet or windy day as that would be rather unpleasant I think. Well done Mablethorpe, a proper runners/racers event. Date of review: October 9, 2012

In short: Probably better than usual. In full: Lovely weather helped after a week of rain etc. Well organised, well marshalled. This is a great race for all on a course that allows everyone to do well. Organised locally without all the hype of bigger races, it is as it should be, turn up and enjoy a good friendly race.
The issue of tee shirts is out of proportion, sadly the entry form did say tee shirts but it seems a medal was given instead. Surely any memento is suitable - most races get criticised for 'boring tee shirts' so just enjoy your medal!
Well done Woodhall, keep up the good work.

In short: Lovely day, very well organised. In full: Bright warm sunshine a real bonus. Very well organised, I liked the number & chip registration, which made a friendly welcome to all. Enough said about the hills but we all knew and afterwards speed was easy & last couple of miles really quick. No problem with traffic as the marshalls did a great job (thank you) and finishing on a track is great for runners and spectators. A good friendly day & PB too. Date of review: March 14, 2012

In short: That was a cold wind & slippery off road In full: Good day, pretty good course apart from the track but there is no alternative and only about 1.5 mls. Could be dangerous if really wet I think. With plastic cups I feel one more drink station would be helpful in mid race. Very well marshalled and well signed too. Good job! In short: Great 'running' course, well marshalled, chip timing is a benefit, good support, probably a big enough field now, good start time, fast results service, a good race. In full: Overall a very good race to do which has grown over the years. Possibly the capacity is at or close to the limit now? Like many races the start is tricky because of congestion as people look for space ...... however this is a village event not a city one and the course is a winner once you get going!! There is slight concern over the distance marking of the first & last couple of Ks and overall distance, interesting that there was no visible 'start' mark painted on the road like all other K marks. I guess some additional signage might benefit all - water station coming (try higher head height signs), at the finish, tee-shirt here by size, chips here, water here etc just makes a small area less random/hap-hazard. Marshalls were very good, friendly, encouraging (AND WELL DONE to the Gentleman on his mobility scooter collecting used cups at the 2nd water station, how nice for him to be involved too). So well done Woodhall, the devil is in the detail but keep up the good work, every little improvement will help the continued success.
PS - time for the half marathon again please!! :-) Date of review: June 7, 2010

Friendly, relaxed, open to everyone AND cakes to die for!!! Wish my village had this much enthusiasm (about anything!!) for sport. Date of review: October 11, 2004
