In short: Great organisation, great course, a race well worth running.
In full: A lovely low key small event with great organisation and a wonderful course with enough ups and downs to keep you concentrating hard on quiet country lanes through great scenery- even though it was a tad misty to see properly. The 3 mile flat section on the old railpath was surprising as the surface of compacted mud and gravel with potholes made it quite challenging. A great friendly atmosphere and a big bowl of cawl once we'd found the cabin behind the pub. A brilliant Welsh event. You should do it!

In short: A great way to get those 20 miles done!
In full: A very enjoyable jaunt around the lanes of Gloucester. Yes, the weather helped with brilliant sunshine, but the marshalls and spectators were also brilliant with plenty of encouragement and well placed and adequate water stations which made the three lap course fly by. A couple of uphills also kept you on the ball and some dodgy potholes on a couple of sections needed concentration. Well done Gloucester AC for a great race just perfect for Spring marathon training.

In short: This one is a blast! A special event to put on the calendar for next year.
In full: If you want a challenge with your running- this is it. It is a proper off road event with no gimmicks. Do it and love it. Well done Chepstow Harriers, this is one to cherish.

In short: Come on everyone- you are missing a real treat!
In full: My third time back for this wonderful race and it comes up with the goods every time. Yes, it's hilly, but that's the challenge, and the scenery can make you forget all the hard work. The marshalling is excellent, everything is thought of, with a lovely village atmosphere prevailing at the finish with tons of excellent home prepared food on offer. Come on everyone- you must do this one next year.

In short: Decent enough long distance race in the country.
In full: Start was a bit confusing with marathon in one direction and 50k in another. More water points would be a benefit and also better distance markers, especially down the finish straight- that really did not seem to end. Did anybody find the distance was out by over a mile- or was that just my fatigue? Marshalls good, course testing with those few short hills. Awards a bit low key and an anticlimax after racing such a distance.

In short: Great way to start your new running year
In full: This friendly, well organised scenic race sets a high standard for the rest of the year. A mildly challenging but extremely scenic course, great marshalling, great facilities, good prizelist and free coffee and biscuits makes for a memorable New Year's Day race. Well done Wye Valley.

In short: Highly recommended, a scenic, challenging, country race.
In full: Thank you to all the marshalls, they deserve the medals for standing around in that weather. Well done to all, a great race. Fingers crossed for better weather next year- I will be back.
