In short: A great race with the testing hills on the first lap!
In full: The race is well organised with excellent marshalling at all required points on the course. The sweatshirt is excellent - no adverts just celebrating the race. The weather today was very kind with the sun and light cloud making for good racing conditions. The start is a bit limited on road space - especially as may runners parked on the race route at the start. The showers and changing facilities were good - hot water even for the 3 hour runners!

In short: A great run with plenty of space to run, good weather
In full: The route is not scenic but it is a runners run with plenty of opportunity for a fast run although lots of corners with ever changing running line.
The end is crowded - it needs more space for runners and for their time to recover, et their bags and get changed. I didn't appreciated being chased to leave to head into the crowded fun fair.

In short: A great day for a PB... but not achieved!
In full: The day should have provided a PB but those last few miles are a killer on the marathon. It was all I expected from Blackpool and more, the sun came out, the roads were closed, the promenade gave a good running track - no chance of getting lost. The marshalls seemed to be everywhere with words of encouragement. For family it was good as my wife got to see me on each lap. And who could believe the weather at Blackpool in April.
Yes, some of the scenery wasn't that good, but then it isn't all that good at many of the rave events, including the FLM.
I hope the organisers are able to run the event again as it is certainly an advert for good smaller races, running with 20,000 people may bring lots of sponsorship but it is hard work.

In short: A well organised, friendly race, undulating to add a challenge
In full: A hiiden gem, it is well organised from start to finish, good changing at the start, clean and plently of toilets. The hills are a constant challenge and contribute to the success of the race. The last mile or so to the finish is hard but you know once you get onto the track to the end you can put in a fast finish.
All the organisers and their helpers deserve a good thumbs up from all the runners.

In short: A good run on roads with very little traffic well marshalled
In full: A good run with plenty of space to run after the first half mile, accurate mile and half mile markers. The weather helped with sun coming out and the fresh light breeze not expected after the last 24 hours.

In short: A very good run despite the awful weather, thanks to marshalls for being there oand making the race a success.
In full: The weather conspired to make the arrangements very difficult, the roads were very wet, the car parks not available due to boogy ground, despite all of this the route gives a good challenge with possibility of personal best, if, if the wind had not been so challenging today.
The warm showers helped to wash away the mud and start the recovery - now when is my next run!
The T-shirt is better than most, the fruit at the end ran out quickly, but good bacon butties on sale.

In short: Excellent organisation with a good route mainly traffic free. Even the wind and rain wasn't to much of a ddistraction:-)
In full: I was worried about the car park, it is a wet field, but it worked alright.
The race is well organsiaed with plenty of marshalls and most drivers were runner friendly.
The calendar is an excellent idea, good to see some local races as well as national ones in the photo - a momemto that I may even use.
See you next year!

In short: A great race to celebrate my 25 years on marathon running
In full: I was determined to run this year's race, having run the first in 1982 I just had to be there. I also ran the race in 1992 and set my marathon PB. This waether was Welsh and it was at least warm rain! The atmosphere was excellent, the runners and the spectators really make this an enjoyable race. I must admit I had forgotten how hard the Welsh Wall actually is, I remember that I culd run up it with relative ease 14 years ago, but not this year. My old legs packed up with a very painful muscle spasm - lots of peple ofered to assist in getting through the problem. I was able to complete the marathon in sub 4 hours so a good day all round. Looking forward to the next time.

In short: Great for a PB but not the scenery
In full: Good organosation at the start followed the rest of the race. The scenery is the housing estates of Peterborugh, with lots of bends and sharp corners.

In short: A challenging run, good preparation for the Snowdonia Marathon
In full: I had forgeotten how hard this run could be - time allowed for a rose tinted view. The out and back section was the most challenging, it was certainly undulating. I enjoyed seeing the front runners coming the other wauy, it provided an incentive to try harder. I had decided to do the Cransley half as part of my marathon preparation for the Snowdonia Marathon, a good choice.
