In short: First for a long time
In full: My first 10K for a long time and the first time for this race but very pleased with both. Very easy going and friendly atmosphere, well attended but parking a little limited

In short: The Mars Bar was Excellent!
In full: Despite the worst of conditions ever experienced on a run this was a really good event. The organisers are trying hard, were friendly supportive etc and can't be blamed for the conditions. A great t-shirt and medal again and the Mars Bar at the end was a real treat! Could be a long term regular on this one!

In short: Great return of English Half
In full: Despite the delay of the start on a cool wet October morning, I thought this was a great first go at the return of the English half marathon. If thisis to become a permanen fixture the organisers need to perhaps improve on some aspect, such as the crossing point at the entrance to the track, but overall it's well worth a try.

In short: Under 4hrs and a pb, can't be all bad!
In full: Some excellent organisation and some suspect bits. Plenty of water stations, marshalls were great and the sponges were a nice touch, but running along the busy roads, pinch points and the long distance from bag store/changing rooms to start could be something to be improved. Overall i think it was pretty good though and I went under 4 hrs and got a pb, so it can't be that bad eh?
Thanks to the organisers, maybe see you next year?

In short: Don't bring your car!
In full: This year's race had more hills (I hate hills) so my time was not the PB I would have liked, but it was respectable, just 1 min slower than Blackpool last month. Atmosphere was very good, but delays at the start meant standing around in the cold for far too long (caused by delays in transport from car parks?). Event was spoilt for me a bit by the fiasco at the car park on King's Dock where (along with hundreds of others) I spent over an hour in a queue to get out.
Going to an event on the dock front in Liverpool?
My advice is DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR!!! There are too few pay machines ( I think there was 1 that was working???), no credit card facility on exit and nobody bothered to tell the jobsworths on the gate that we were coming .....!!! SIGH!

In short: Could do with better attention to detail
In full: I think the organisers should look at 2 things, the bag store - not enough supervision/security, somewhere decent to change. Other than that it's improving, but still a long way to go to live up to the ''Great'' tag!

In short: Magnificent event, but some problems for running!
In full: Looking back I see this as something of an amazing event in my life, it was well worth doing, but I have some issues. The issues don't spoil my feelings for the event but theare issues as a runner. I fell at 11.5 miles and badly damaged my ankle, I was on for something like 3.40 but finished in 4.17. The issues for me are the pinch/compression points where you are surrounded by the slower runners, the slippery surfaces with bottles, bottle caps and those bl***y slices of orange. Now on crutches having been patched up/strapped up by St Johns (thanks guys!) and running 15 miles on adrenaline and a bad ankle ... stupid I know .... not the right thing to do ..yes I know that too ... but I finished, the charity will get it's £2,000 and I'll have a made a difference to some disabled kids life I hope so anyway .... plus ..my ankle will heal and I will run again ..... Overall, the scenerey and the crowds make this something to remember for the rest of your life ... if you get the chance ...do it!

In short: A little crowded at the start but mostly OK
In full: Biggest criticism would be lack of adequate toilet facilities for the numbers before the start. Other than that, went smoothly. A nice speed run on a cold morning.
