In short: Car parked in the middle of the course!!!
In full: Nice race, pleasant, off-road, scenic - good for beginners.
Unfortunately let down by organisational problems - i) a car was parked right across the course on a narrow pavement/road crossing ii) people lower down the field were queueing to get over the line, presumably making accurate times impossible iii) selfish slower people starting way up the field making everyone else have to weave through them - though the organisers did appeal to people not to iv) goody bags hidden away.
Would probably give it another go next year though.

In short: Never Again!
In full: I won't be doing this one again. It's mainly through an industrial estate, on badly maintained roads, then it twists & turns through the city centre, up & down pavements and over pot holed roads. Then it finishes in Pride Park stadium, which sounds good, but unfortunately there are right angled turns to slow you down further. It must add at least a minute to times. Possibly a good one for fun runners but not if you're after a decent time. Also the entry fee is very high, with a serious lack of goodies afterwards, the obligatory t-shirt, a bottle of water & a banana! Surely a big city race finishing in a Premiership football stadium could attract some sponsers to give away decent freebies.

In short: Off-road, nice scenery, killer hill at the end, otherwise pretty quick - great organisation & atmosphere.

In short: Nice, friendly race, well organised, flat & quick, though some pavement running & an uninspiring first half on roads/pavements - would definitely do again, though hopefully in cooler weather next time.
