In short: Brilliant race but awful start
In full: First GNR, really enjoyed it and achieved a PB. The finish is crowded, but I was particularly annoyed by the start. I got to the Orange D gate 7 minutes before the start, but they wouldn't let me in, telling me that I had to go right to the back. There is nothing in the paperwork that gives a cut off for getting into your zone. People were trying to jump over and get under the fencing. After being dragged back from under a fence once, I managed to wriggle under to get to my allocated slot. Very upsetting. They should be clear about the cut off time. Otherwise, a great atmosphere and the weather was great. It's a bit dull in the middle, but the first and last miles make up for that.
