In short: The view of th seafront coming up on the last mile makes it all worthwhile
In full: Frustrating in that the zone system obviously doesn't work - people must be telling untruths as to their predicted finish times - how can I be running for 45 mins and pass someone who is walking who has been on the course for over an hour???
The bands and the wonderful spectators with their jelly babies and ice pops keep you going through the monotonous bits. The only other gripe is more energy drinks - miles 4 & 8 only are not enough

In short: 10 mins quicker than I expected - what more can you say!
In full: Real shame the drinks stations ran out - if I'd had the opportunity to replenish my energy stores (instead of having to pick up discarded bottles of water off the floor!) My legs might not have stopped working at 11 miles and I would have got in under 2 hours...

In short: Thank God they ditched the bright orange t shirts but shame ditched medals too :-(
In full: Not cheap to enter and took 7 mins to get over start line(!) but the new start was a big improvement. Shame not to go through the grounds of Kirkstall Abbey anymore but understandable with the amount of runners this race attracts. Wish more races would adopt the championchip

In short: Wot water station at 5k?
In full: Nice atmosphere, even the marshalls were cheering us on! Did get very cold very quickly in the endless queue to hand in chip/get water etc and had to remember not to be disheartened when I saw the clock at the finish - not being an elite runner it took me a good 3-4 mins to shuffle towards the start and with the results taking (from what I gather is usual) ages to come out, glad I had my own stopwatch. Didn't actually see the predicted finish time markers at the start until I set off but I will know all this next time!
