In short: One of the best halfs in the calendar.
In full: Another good half by Riverside Runners. A few comments though. The first two miles both seemed "short" (with the extra distance made up in the second half of the race). The first water station was chaotic as access to it was blocked by an oncoming vehicle; we could have done with people handing out bottles on the near side of the road too. Lastly, I felt the marshalls were a bit lacklustre and could have been more encouraging (though I note others have commented differently). However I would stress these are minor niggles and overall it was an excellent and well organised event.

In short: Excellent marshalling in bad weather but let down by poor organisation at the start & finish
In full: Plus points were the excellent marshalls who braved the terrible weather and improved toilet facilities. Minus points the poor organisation at start and finish. The expected time zones at the start were too widely spaced and runners should have been asked to walk forward and bunch; there was no noticeable warning the gun was about to go off meaning those at the back must have run 50m more than necessary to cross the start line. My goody bag was full of bits & pieces, but my wife who finished a few minutes later was disappointed to find just two items in hers. Why?

In short: Enjoyable event, but suffered from patchy organisation
In full: Course was fast as promised, but not lightening quick. The out & back route though scenic was a bit unimaginative and meant a long run into the wind (which seemed to drop once we turned for home).

Very busy at the start area with long queues for toilets. Pens worked well; only took me 30 secs to cross the start line from pen 3 and no problems with congestion in the early miles. Finish area was a nightmare; it was a real fight to get to the reunion point. Didn't have a long wait for a shuttle bus back though driver got lost on his way out of Musselburgh!

Agree with other comments about the Expo. Not easily accessible (only one direct bus) few exhibitors and a disappointing goody bag.

In short: Good atmosphere and very well organised event. Course harder than expected due to persistent undulation.

In short: Despite no steep hills, persistent undulations and the strong winds made this tougher than it looked on paper. Credit to the marshalls who remained supportive throughout. Minor gripes were the faraway parking & congestion in the smallish race HQ

In short: Excellent event again. For 2nd year running I've apparently run the uphill 2nd mile much faster than the downhill 3rd mile. Is the mile 2 marker a bit early??.

In short: Race would be much improved by using some of the great countryside around WGC rather than have us doing two laps of cycle paths & housing estate. Course is flatish, but you're always turning corners, dodging bollards etc. Mile markers a bit outt.

In short: Brilliant. My 4 yr old nephew is still glowing with pride at his medal, My only concern is that the event will become too popular and stretch the facilities.

In short: OK race. Ridiculous round-the-houses first 3 miles to make the distance up, would be better cutting some out and advertising as an 8 miler.
