In short: That was a bit cold and soggy !
In full: Its the scenery that makes this race, and the cadets around the course were excellent. Ive done this a few times now but its less and less value for money. No medal this time, just a soggy cardboard certificate to fill in yourself, not a t shirt, but a poorish quality vest that mentions fat feet, but not the name of the race! No marshals opening gates at the sides of cattlegrids like there has been in previous years. I will be back, as the course is what this event is all about, but ldwa organise marathons for about seven quid a pop and i feel like ive been taken advantage of.

In short: Delightful
In full: Thought about going to London to watch the mens olympic marathon, but then found this and decided its better to do something than watch something. Great venue, organisation, friendliness etc. A couple more markers in the last mile of the marathon would be useful - I clocked the marathon at 26.7 and that last bit was a killer! Overall not too bad though compared to wenlock over the edge and malvern midsummer madness, its challenging but not a killer.

In short: 13 marathons so far this year and this is the best to date. More a mud-athon than a mar-athon!

In short: A couple of big hills, but a couple of dozen friendly marshalls!!
In full: My 10th marathon this year, and i enjoyed more than endured it. Hills made it interesting, and the weather was ideal. Great atmosphere all the way round. Big thankyou to the organisers and the supporters !!

In short: Most scenic marathon I have ever run
