In short: A great race with a great atmosphere - I'm not keen on multi-lap races but this one's always fun - with great touches like the bagels afterwards!

In short: I really didn't enjoy this race - I felt really unsafe a lot of the way around, especially when cars drove into packs of runners!Marshalls did a great job but more were needed, one for every junction to make us feel safer...& no water stops?! harsh!
In full: As this was a chipped race with a big sponsor I expected a well organised event - Toilet queues were a nightmare at the start (common complaint I know) I queued half an hour and almost missed the start. The race itself was really unpleasant - no roads or pavements were closed off so we had to fight against pedestrians and cars for our bit of space... I saw many a car just taking turns through the runners, which is really dangerous - not only could someone have gotten hit, the sudden stopping and swerving can cause horrid injuries for us runners!

The marshalls were doing as well as they could, but there wasn't enough - they needed to be on every junction, but they weren't... I'm grateful to the majority of drivers (who were patient) but the few that weren't really made me feel at risk.... I've never felt like that in 5 years of regular racing...

I hadn't noticed either that there was no water on the route, so that was an added surprise, but there was plenty at the end...

.. on a positive note, my boyfriend said that the area for spectators at the finish was good because the facilities available were better than at other races he's been to with me (he was able to get food and a drink and the atmosphere was nice around the finish)....

I wouldn't do this race again though, unless the route was safer...

thanks.
