In short: Fast and friendly
In full: Great marshalls, lots of cheering spectators along the route, some giving out drinks and one let me use the loo in her house! Medal is a little marble trophy thingy, looks nice on the mantelpiece. I had a great race. Looking forward to next year already.

In short: Great organisation, nice route, smashing race.
In full: Very well organised race. Some of the route is through residential areas and some through the park. A few hills but nothing too bad. The pud makes a fun change from a medal or tshirt as a memento. The free sports massage at the end was a lovely touch. Just one small niggle - the blurb said "intermittent" water stations but there was only one. Overall I had a really nice race.

In short: Nice race, nice medal, good location.
In full: I ran the 5k, which would have benefited from distance markers and water at the end. Roadworks on the A1 could have caused problems but the organisers did a great job of warning entrants in advance and signposting the way to the race. Parking was also plentiful and well-organised. Extra toilets were definitely a helpful touch. Goody bag was a little meagre, although the medal was nice. I enjoyed the race.

In short: This was my first race and I couldn't have picked a better one.
In full: The organisers were very helpful when I admitted I was a race virgin, and reassured me I couldn't get lost or end up running the wrong way. They pointed out the toilets, showers, baggage area and start line. There was also a map of the course clearly displayed.
The race itself was clearly laid out, with marshalls at every turn who not only showed the way but clapped and cheered all the runners as well. It was a lovely route through the park, patly under the shade of trees. There were clear distance markers.
At the end each runner was cheered by the crowds, and given a nice medal and a goody bag with a tshirt, bar of chocolate and carton of fruit juice. There was plenty of cold water in cups at the end as well.
I really enjoyed this, my first race. Great location, great organisation. Five stars.
