In short: Another great stagger In full: I think this was my 5th stagger and although no snow this year, it was probably the muddiest yet - at least ankle deep in places. Really enjoyed it nonetheless. Great marshalls throughout and an excellent turnout of all abilities. Well done SRRC! Date of review: February 4, 2013

In short: Challenging 10k in beautiful surroundings on a glorious autumn morning In full: Well organised 10k around the Shugborough estate starting and finishing in front of the house. A good mix of road, trail, woodland path and grass with a challenging hill about 3k in. Only gripe was lack of km markers and the marshalls did not know distance either so difficult to judge pace at times. Otherwise very enjoyable and will be back next year. In short: Well organised 10k In full: Good mix of abilities and terrain make this a popular local run. Reasonably flat so PB potential. I was 3 minutes down on last year - still getting over an infection - but enjoyed it nonetheless. Course muddy and wet in places but the sun shone for the first time in what feels like a month! In short: Excellent off road half. In full: Excellent off road half marathon in the forest of dean. First mile on road but otherwise on forest trails. A few hills (nothing serious) but probably not going to be a PB course. Well organised, plenty of marshals and drinks stations. Excellent scenery complemented by superb weather and enthusiastic support made for a great morning out. Date of review: April 2, 2012

In short: Enjoyable, off-road 10K over lovely farm roads and easily runnable footpaths In full: Really enjoyed this race, though admittedly the glorious weather contributed a lot to that. A varied mix of trails - some tarmac, farm roads and footpaths - through lovely rural scenery. I guess it could be a bit muddy had it have been wet but no problems today. Smallish (<200) field of runners on wide paths meant no congestion and plenty of passing opportunities. Good marshalls and nice T shirt as memento. First time at this race and won't be my last. In short: The case of the missing marshal! In full: Posted on behalf of the wife! Well, despite the snow, this was an enjoyable event but quite a few runners missed a turning and ended up adding nearly 1k on to the route: After crossing a field and coming out on the Worcester road, runners were directed along the pavement. The next turning back on to a footpath over the railway was not obvious, had no signs and no marshal, and quite a few runners carried on down the road, only realising their mistake when they got to the traffic lights. They then had to retrace their steps. The marshal at Ounty John Lane was informed and they sent somenone down to direct, but I guess this was already too late for quite a few ladies. Shame this spoilt what is normally a very well run race. Date of review: February 6, 2012

In short: Another great stagger despute the snow In full: This was my 4th Stagger and I wasn't sure if the race was going to go ahead with all the snow we had on Saturday. However, it had started to thaw a bit (there was not much actual ice around) and in the end, I think it only added to what is already a great race. That said, those in normal road shoes did struggle a bit, especially on the hills, and I saw a good few take a tumble around Churchill. Great atmosphere, good marshals (especially at road crossings) and a surprisinlgly good time made it one to remember. I'll be back again next year. Date of review: February 6, 2012
