In short: Great 10k In full: Thankfully cooler this year than last. Route largely unchanged from last year so up the hill to the town twice which some did moan about. Don't mind it myself as its only a small hill and means the last k is all downhill! Chip timing and a nice memento too. Date of review: July 14, 2014
In short: Another great stagger In full: The wettest January on record contributed to provide the worst underfoot conditions I can remember for this years stagger with ankle deep mud in abundance. However, the sun shone and a good run was had by all. Nice mimento (a green towel) to add to the collection. I think I now have white, blue & pink. Any chance of a red one next year? ;-) This is a great if tough race but well organised deservedly popular because of it. Well done SRC! Date of review: February 3, 2014
In short: Excellent little race In full: Good organisation, great facilities, free tea and cake - what more could you want? Have the run the last 2 years but still to run the proper route due to flooding - to be expected in January though. Mainly off-road, muddy in places but flat and plenty of support and encouragement from the locals. Well worth the trip Date of review: January 7, 2014
In short: Tough 6k in beautiful shropshire countryside In full: Well organised friendly 6k in aid of cancer charities. Marshals were great and supportive, weather glorious and course thankfully dry. A couple of tough hills including the "bite" but nothing too bad - definitely not going to be a PB though. Chip timing, celebratory starter (!), decent medal and certificate all at a reasonable price. Date of review: October 7, 2013
In short: Tough but enjoyable 10K In full: Those hills don't get any easier but an enjoyable morning out in the lovely staffordshire countryside nonetheless. Cotton T-shirt momento again which is very nice but could I suggest something different next year? Tech T or a medal?? Date of review: September 30, 2013
In short: Well organised popular HM In full: Route reasonably flat (this is Cornwall!) with only a couple of minor hills so could be PB potential for some. However this year was cold, wet and windy so just glad to finish in a reasonable time Most of the route is on quite roads but 6 miles or so are on trails; these are hard pack and road shoes are fine. Thanks must go to the brass band playing despite the weather at approx. mile 5/10 which really lifted the spirits. Memento was a good quality tech T. The only gripe I have is that the final few yards pass through a reasonably busy road junction with marshalls struggling at times to control some inconsiderate drivers and thus delaying a few of the runners. Not sure if road closures or moving the finish are an option? Oh and beware of sharks and crocodiles on the trail section!
In short: another fabulous race..... In full: but very, very hot! well organised as usual and I actually prefer the new route. mildly challenging, does not have the long slog on the other side of the river and a nice down hill finish to boot. liked the tech t memento too. will be back again next year
In short: Another great stagger In full: I think this was my 5th stagger and although no snow this year, it was probably the muddiest yet - at least ankle deep in places. Really enjoyed it nonetheless. Great marshalls throughout and an excellent turnout of all abilities. Well done SRRC! Date of review: February 4, 2013
