In short: Despite the snow i got a PB In full: Did this last year, and completed two rounds this year and even though we had snow to deal with I got a new 15k PB by over two minutes over round 1 so i am very pleased. The marshalls where lovely and helpful. I would like to see km markers as I do get confused around the finish and lap 2 n 3 never knowing where I am so i can pace myself. Really enjoyed both races this year cant do third tho Date of review: February 5, 2012
In short: Nice Scenic Run In full: I have run here twice now and enjoy the venue cos its flat, i like flat. Very basic race and organised ok. I think it could do with more participants. Managed a PB today so Im pleased despite dodging dogs and kids on trikes. Tbh I only saw two marshals one a the route interchange bit and another directing traffic. Was there more? Anyway, could be a better event in terms of numbers. I would do it again Date of review: January 1, 2012
In short: PB and a generous goody bag In full: Really enjoyed this race around Regents Park: nice n flat..deffo do again....Goody Bag: Medal, Tshirt, Pen, keyring, fruit n nut bar, Nutritional milkshake, sports bottle, crisps....a good generous bag! Date of review: November 20, 2011
In short: 2nd time for me In full: I did this race last year and back again this year..really enjoyed it. Wasnt put off by the laps, as i forgotten my watch i used the clock at the finish to pace and i managed a second fastest time for 10k which is pleasing and knocked 4 mins of last years time. Well organised and enjoyable race..see ya next year Date of review: August 21, 2011
In short: Could be PB potential not for me tho :( In full: I enjoyed this run, made good use of the park and its lay out..Never run round Finsbury Park before so allowed me to see what was what. Stroke Association did well in my opinion. Date of review: August 14, 2011
In short: Up and down we go! In full: Found it tough but managed a personal best which was surprising! hot and sponges was very much welcomed. The Chip timing wasnt very good! why have it at the end and not the beginning???
@Craig, there was KM markers at every KM not just the selected ones u mentioned. Date of review: April 11, 2011
In short: wasnt looking forward to this one but was surprised In full: I enjoyed this one despite it saying it was hilly! i dont think it was, slightly undulating with the hill at mile 2. Was very warm conditions and wish there was more water: sponges was needed when they came. Mile 12-13 was a slog. Goody bag wasnt very generous: medal and a tshirt tho! the past few halfs have been one or the other so points here. Deffo be back next year Date of review: April 3, 2011
In short: Found this one so hard but its there to challenge us with those hills In full: I felt depressed after this one as I had worked hard on training and was 6 mins out from my average time but not the worse time this year so really cant complain... . found it so challenging as i didnt anticipate the steep inclines and hills. But was please i managed to get round.
Noticed some of the complaints here where a bit mean to be honest. I thought the organisation was excellent, the marshalls lovelly and encouraging. I have been on other half marathons where u get one or two water stations! this had three and a sponge one and a nice lady giving out jellies ! i would have liked to have a medal for such a well planned and executed race. In short: Def liked the second half better than the first!! In full: did not like that loooooooooooong hill up to mile 4 water station which was welcomed after mile 6 got in to my stride and paced picked up but until then i struggled..loved the scenes along the canal and running through ashridge: marshalls where plenty, supportive and encouraging. In short: Think im going to be sick..... In full: toughest run i have done for three years and the longest. that muddy stretch 7-9 was stupid but great fun!!! certainly not a pb actually the worst time i have ever done but didnt do it for that. Marshalls and water stations were excellent..well done and thanks to the volunteers Date of review: January 23, 2011
