In short: Steady enjoyable run, ruined by single file bottleneck at mile 1 In full: A real shame as the benefit of offering chip timing, was somewhat ruined by the daft single file bottleneck at mile 1. Reckon in took 5-10mins to get through. Perhaps you could stage the start against expected finish times to help alleviate the issue and spread runners out. Seeing other comments re muddy track, the instructions did say it would be muddy. But it kept me going watching everyone trying to avoid the puddles & mud. You all must of added another 1/2 mile to the distance :-). Well done to happy Marshals, real shame you didn't hear many runners thanking them. Date of review: February 22, 2016
In short: Great, tough night time Halloween run In full: Great run with over 1300ft of tough climbs. For us lots of strong winds and horizontal rain to Contend with. Big problem was a ridiculous screw up by one marshal the majority of runners were sent the wrong way down a fire track. The fronts runners probably did an extra few miles because of this, not ideal. We did nearly a mile extra because of this marshal and it kind of ruined the event from a timings perspective. Good tshirt, medal and a toffee apple to go. Date of review: November 2, 2014
In full: Great run, mud & hills galore. Slipping & sliding everywhere and some more. Trail shoes a must and even with those was a struggle. But will be back next year. Find it amazing the times the front runners achieved. Just how do they do it :-) Date of review: January 12, 2014
In short: Great race within a great area. Lots of downhill sections, which of course means lots of uphill sections. Some pretty tough, walked up to the Yat v v steep. Great fun though Date of review: September 8, 2013
In full: As others have mentioned, only one manned water station and that was giving out small cups of water and sports drinks which most people binned along the course. It's not rocket science 'Runthrough', water is one of the basic and important aspects of a event. Bit dissapointed at the finsh, i was by no means last, but the tables were not manned so had to scrabble about for fruit and water and i ended up going back after 20minutes looking for a t-shirt as were so tucked away, did not even realise they were any.
In short: Great fun, Muddy, Muddy oh a very very wet. In full: Great fun, lots and lots of splashing, paddling and clawing your way out of ditches and bogs. If you have never tried any of this type of event, give it a go. Great fun. Date of review: October 22, 2012
