In short: Great race which makes you work for your coal!
In full: Really good race, challenging with the hills but well worth the effort. It would be a real shame to see this one drop off the calender on health and saftey grounds, no issues this year, really well organised and marsalled - no other race rewards you with a lump of coal! well done Somer AC and a big thank to the race director and all the happy smily marshalls.

In short: Well organised + fast course - perfect start to the New Year
In full: New course for 08 - seemed better than last year though the finish was crowded and some wouldnt like the mile walk back to the race HQ. Very well organised and a nice Mug memento - fast so good PB potential!

In short: Hills and lots of them! very challenging course with great organisation
In full: Tough course, really have to earn the excellent caakes at the finish - very well organised, traffic free and did I mention that it was a bit hilly! Great support and a samba band for the last 400m

In short: Nice place for a race but inaccurate distance and poor organisation let it down badly
In full: billed as 10k but actually 7 miles - nice heathland trail run with a kids 2.5k race as well - a good first time race / family day out.
Organisation was well intentioned but sadly lacking - no water for the second lap on a blistering hot day got some people into trouble.
Marshals were plentiful but still people went the wrong way.
It was for charity but next year the rotary guys need some help from a club to make sure things go a bit more smoothly

In short: A big leap backwards from last year...hope its not put people off what should be a great run
In full: Claims to be the 2nd biggest half in the UK, with organisation like that it wont be for long!!!!
Start / Finish area was a shambles, people fenced in, small kids crying because of the crowds - spectators couldnt get near the finish line so had a strange quiet last 200yrds.
Water stations were plentiful + energy drinks, shame there were not enough people manning them - had to stop and unwrap the bottles myself at one point - what happened to the sponge stations?
The new course had its pos and negs, too narrow at the start but all the city running out of the way early made for a good finish straight in from the river. The extended bit up the portway was a drag - the hill to about 9 miles really sapped the strength but it has a potential for a fast time if you can get up the front and get away fast from the crowds and mayhem behind!
Lets hope the city council take note, teething troubles with the new venue can be excused (maybe!) but I hope they get my home town half back on track for next year and get the organisation sorted....and dont bother with a goodybag stuffed full of paper and nothing else!
Final note, big, big thanks to all the supporters who lined the whole route (except the finish line!) and really gave us a good cheer along...no bands this year whish was a shame...

In short: excellently tough race over some scenic HILLS!, really well organised, cheers Hogweeds
In full: Great sceanery, well organised with lots of marshalls and plenty of water. Tough course which really is "hilly" and not the usual "Undulating!" Free sports massage at the end was very welcome as was the massive amount of cakes and food and a nice goodie bag. Will be back next year and for all the other Hogweed races, cheers hogweed....well done!

In short: flatter than a flat thing with extra flat bits! mmm cakes too!
In full: pure PB course, couldnt be flatter, shame the last 0.1 of a mile was on a mudy school field though. Well organised and good cakes and tea at the end
