In short: Surprised at the route....
In full: ....as I was imagining pretty countryside between the castles, but the first few miles was a main road and a roundabout and the last few through a housing estate area. (I tried to imagine what it was like in the tudor times between the castles to keep me going). But the medal was gorgeous. You dont get many medals that are not round :)

In short: Two laps in a large park?
In full: Id have enjoyed this race more if they used more of the park and woods and made it an A to B race rather than two laps which for a slower runner like me, makes me lack enthusiasm the second time round. But overall the atmosphere was lovely and it was a good day out. Quite liked the use of pretty string on the medal rather than ribbon.

In short: Lost in the woods....
In full: ....and when complaned to a marshall, was told that everyone else managed it ok!
Disapointing as it was my local boroughs race. Lots of cheater people too, which ruined the whole atmosphere.

In short: Dodging tourists made my week!
In full: I actually enjoyed the difference of this race of dodging tourists, running up and down subwaya. Its actually more fun than a normal race round a park or on roads. Will be back next year. Oh and the medal was lush!

In short: Not much improvement on last years organisation
In full: I ws going to for the 10k but because of the late start, I just did the 5K (afternoon commitments). And what on earth was that warm up that went on for ever. I swear it was longer than it took me to run the race (27 mins). Wont be appearing next year, done it 3 times and the organisation is getting worse not better.

In short: Lovely medal again!
In full: I love this yearly race and the medal was as cute as last years with the lovely blue ribbon. If only it was a little colder next year.....

In short: Lovely views....big hills
In full: Lovely off-road course. Glad it hadnt rained the night before or the hills would have been a bit slippery. Enjoyed it. :)

In short: Badly organised but good crowd support
In full: The start was a laugh with everyone walking round in circles but the crowd support was great. I am doing the 10k here this year, just slightly concerned how they will control the 5k and 10k race starts after last years mess up.

In short: Thank god for the Promenade rails!
In full: Or I would have blown onto the beach at times :) It was a challenging 1st half marathon but I enjoyed it and the medal is gorgeous.

In short: Jelly beans and sheep!
In full: eating jelly beans whilst jogging past sheep make a difference to a normal road race!
The medal was fantastic, well worth the run in the very hot October sun! Ill run this one again!
