In short: Let down by poor parking arrangements since it has become part of the Grimsthorpe Festival. Difficulty leaving site at end of race because of incoming traffic. Date of review: August 26, 2013
In short: Super course. Good for stamina. More toilets required. In full: Good parking. Great location for family day out. Well organised event, but more toilets required (only one WC for men as far as I was aware). Portaloos for 2009 please. Mildly challenging course with good uphill and flowing downhill sections. Enjoyed the two different loops. Organisers promised results on website within 24 hrs... but no show. Good teeshirt and biscuits with water/orange at finish, a nice touch. Thanks Date of review: July 21, 2008
In short: Great organisation. Well recommended. In full: Always well organised. Super course, great marshals. Start and finish on a rugby pitch, but over well maintained surface. Weatherproof stand for supporters, with facilities. Nice atmosphere suitable for all standards of athlete. Many familiar 'faces' support this race year on year. Super goodie bag for 2008... especially the socks! All profits from this race go to charity. Well done Notfast, yet again. Date of review: July 13, 2008
In short: Interesting course. Great organisation. Friendly event. In full: Fast start downhill... you could really get carried away if not cautious within first 2K. Need to keep working up the inclines to maintain pace. Nice off-road section maintained interest. Final 2K along busy main road... though being straight, it is crystal clear how much you have to do to get to finish and hold off those around you! Good parking facilities and great organisation. One for the annual calendar I feel. Date of review: June 16, 2008
In short: Appalling organisation In full: If Lincoln City Council are really keen to attract elite athletes to this event, they must get this race started on time. This is not the first time this event has been delayed!!
Warm-up routines were blown out of the water by the 25/30 minute delay and poor communication for the majority led to confusion and frustration.
To add insult to injury, the over-zealous policing, stopping family and friends from entering the Castle finish area was unacceptable.
No excuses for 2009, get the event started on time and find a more suitable finish that can cope with the numbers. You will then have an outstanding athletic event.
