In short: Another very good run around the nicer parts of Leamington. In full: I wasn't really up for it this year, training has been poor and motivation was low. but once again it was a lovely run. The marshalls were friendly and encouraging, the start was nicely pulled together and the water at the water station was cold! The only negative point looked like the finish - it worked well early in the race, but when people were finishing thick and fast they were backing up into the funnel. I'm sure the organisers noted this and will adapt for next year. Good value goody bag with a T-shirt AND a medal!
Not sure what the water was gushing all over the track at the top of the hill, but I'm fairly sure it is the towns drinking water plant there, as the sewage works is next to the river, right by where one of my favourite Canoe events starts. I'll be back next year. Date of review: April 15, 2007
In short: Simply the best run of the year. Fantastic atmosphere; brilliant, supportive and happy marshalls; Loads of mud; and HOT TUBS! what more could one ask for! In full: After a torrid summer this race has restored my faith in running. Almost everybody has a smile on their face, almost all the time. There is some glorious countryside, a testing hill, roman remains, the lake and just how much mud? I especially like running muddy down the front drive of the manor house. If next years entries were available, mine would be in the post now.
Thanks to everyone who works so hard to put this race on. As long as I am able I will be there. Date of review: November 13, 2006
In short: Two PBs in two years, lovely scenery, well organised and on my doorstep. Who could ask for more? In full: I love this race. It isn't clubby, and it is through a beautiful route. I would reccomend it to anyone. Date of review: April 10, 2006
In short: Fantastic Organisation In full: Not quite flat - the second half of the lap is a gentle uphill, and the first half a gentle downhill. The leg along the A40 was a kiler, long, drab and little chance to pass others.
One of the best marshalled and organised races I have done. That alone would have made it a pleasure. Date of review: November 29, 2004
In short: Attractive surroundings, and bit of a challenge In full: Got a personal best, but the hill at the back of the loop is a real challenge and nearly killed me off both times we ran it! Lovely through the woods, perhaps a little under marshalled. Could definitely do with more water. Date of review: September 27, 2004
