In short: Beautiful course, friendly and supportive marshalls & organisers, a great day out.
In full: I've run a few marathons, from very low key events to big city runs. Nearly all of them have cost less than this to enter and to be honest, most have had better organisation. It was only minor things, but they added up to put a bit of a negative feel onto what was otherwise a fantastic run. The distance from the rail station to the start was said to be a 15 minute walk, but took me half an hour (and I'm a fairly fast walker). We were originally told that we would not be deemed to have finished if we didn't make cut off times at each checkpoint. Fortunately this was not the case, but almost stopped some people from turning up. We were told that the checkpoints had been altered, but were still expecting one more than there was and they were sporadically placed. There were a couple of other small things, but it was still a lovely day on a really great route. There was a great atmosphere. I would love to do it again, but cannot justify paying that much again.

In short: Brilliant - day 2 even better than day 1 (sunshine helped!)
In full: Day two of a double could be the harder of the two, but everything was so friendly and welcoming that the warm fuzzies kicked in to make another lovely day out.

In short: A top day out by the canal, great atmosphere and organisation.
In full: The question/answer session in the evening was very useful for anyone doing endurance events. Aimed primarily at folk doing M de S, but lots of other food for thought. Great people to be around for a weekend away.

In short: Rain rocks! A pleasant little run in Wimbledon, very friendly organisers.
In full: I had a fantastic run in the rain. However, I was there with some students and was a little concerned for their safety as not all the road crossings were marshaled and there didn't seem much signage to make drivers aware that an event was going on - just arrows for the runners to follow. Some of the marshals didn't seem too keen, but it was a very cold wet day for them. Others were great though, there were some really good, enthusiastic people out there guiding us and cheering us on.

In short: Mostly scenic course, great marshalls at checkpoints.
In full: The arrow signs and mile markers in the first few miles lulled us into a false sense of security, making it seem that the maps/route descriptions would not be necessary, but there were a few options for getting lost later...
Seemed to be a lot of road for what was advertised as a trail event. Some very pretty parts though and generally well organised.
